That night I walked into my room with Belle tight to my chest. It was the only thing I kept close to me no matter what. The thought of Lady Donna taking time out of her day to make this set my heart on fire. I pressed a kiss against the soft fabric it was made with. I giggled to myself. The thoughts were silly. I knew that. Lady Donna and I together? That was not meant to be, and I was certain of it, but it never stopped the hope. I slowly stepped up to the bed and set the bunny down delicately.
"Even though I know nothing will happen, I can dream right?" I asked myself quietly. A soft knock on the door caught my attention. "Come in?" Lady Donna opened the door. Her feet made no sound as she walked into the room and closed the door behind her. My brow quirked as I stared at her. She stood timidly right by the door as if she needed to escape at any moment. "Lady Donna? Are you alright?"
"Yes," she replied softly.
"Then, how can I help you?"
"Did you like...sleeping me in th-the same bed as me? Maybe?" Her cheeks flared as the question slithered out of her.
"Erm...I mean...well...it was really..." My cheeks turned redder as the confession refused to come. My mind was numb. She stared at me with expectant eyes. "It was nice," I finally forced out.
"Then would you like to, maybe, sleep in my room tonight? Maybe?" Her cheeks mirrored mine. The heat in my body shot up ten degrees as the idea came to fruition. After a tense moment of silence, I nodded. I brought Belle with me, and we walked out of my room. The scowl from Mabel at her own bedroom door did not go unnoticed. I squirmed under her gaze, but notice from Lady Donna was almost like an invisible strike to her. She slipped into the room, and we continued on our way. When we got to her room, she shut the door behind us and locked it.
"Why?"
"I just don't want interrupted like we were this morning." The answer came out as a tense, tired growl. I slowly nodded. "Not unless you are a fan with someone coming into our bedroom in the morning."
"Our?"
"Yes, ours. You can stay up here from now on if you like. I...really enjoyed waking up next to you." I slowly nodded. Belle was held tighter in my grip. Her face softened as eye fell on the doll. "I'm glad that she keeps you company. You've been holding onto her all day."
"I really like her," I admitted. "She's really soft."
"Much like her owner." The humor in her tone brought a smile on my face. I chuckled as she walked away. I was given a pale blue nightgown. "We can move your stuff up tomorrow. For tonight, that will have to do. My washroom is down the hall on the left." I sat Belle down on the bed and walked out. The gown barley went past my thighs when I put it on. Red took over my whole face. I was barely covered by the fabric. It was enough though and would have to do. When I walked back into the room, I locked the door behind me. Delight spread across Lady Donna's face as her eye trailed my body.
"I love the gown on you," she stated in glee. She wore one similar to mine, but a dark grey instead of blue. Belle was in her lap alongside a book. Blush crept at my cheeks. She looked like she was reading Belle a story. That was adorable.
"I-I...glad you like it." The words tumbled out of my lips in a soft murmur as I crept toward the bed. Her smile only grew as she made room for me. "What are you reading?"
"Tales of the Crypt."
"Sounds...like a great bedtime read." Her giggle was adorable as I sat down and leaned against the headboard alongside her.
"Belle seemed to enjoy it," she hummed as the book snapped closed. She reached across me and laid it on her nightstand. My cheeks burst into flames as bare thighs touched against mine.
