"He tried to protect you. He loved you and gave his life for you. he's gone," tears streamed down her face, "he's gone."

Pepper left before he could say anything.

Steve sat down in his chair after returning the glass of water to the table, "for the longest time, all I've ever wanted to do, is what's right... and now, now I don't know what to do anymore. Peg, Tony's dead and it's all my fault."

Peggy sat up, "you... you had no idea. We were threatened on a regular basis back in the day. We were side by side through a world war. We could take care of each other," peggy coughed, "tony was no fighter."

Steve looked away, "he's..." peggy took Steve's hand, "Steve, you didn't know. You can't blame yourself for Him wanting to save your life." Steve wiped the tears from his eyes, "words can not express how sorry I am."

"You saved the world Steve."

Steve looked down, "And I losses my best girl."

"Steve," Steve looked back up, "go home to the others. they need there captain."

"And I need tony."

Peggy kissed Steve's cheek then told him to leave again.
