"you ready Mani?" Armani's nana asked as she put on her shoes
She nodded and stood up
Today she had to start going to counseling....again
"you wanna eat before or after?" Nana asked
"after, I'm not that hungry" she said making her nana nod
They got in the car and headed to the building
"it didn't work the first time" Armani told her frowning
"I know baby, if you don't like it we don't have to go anymore" nana said rubbing her back
"you for real?" Mani asked smiling
Her nana nodded
They went into the office
"you must be....Armani Wright" the lady said
Mani nodded sitting down
"well I'm Dr.Thomas" she said smiling
Mani nodded again not knowing what to say
"let's get started" she said getting her note book out
"let's start off easy.... What's your birthday?" She asked
"June 15th" Armani mumbled
The therapist continued to ask unnecessary questions
"it says here you haven't been to a session in 3 years, why's that?" She asked
"it doesn't work" she said truthfully
"what doesn't work?" Dr.Thomas asked
"talking ta people" she said
"it doesn't work cause you neva talk" Dr.Thomas said smartly
" I don't really like the way you said that" Mani and her nana said
"no harm" Dr.Thomas said as her face got red
"ok tell me everything that's happened in your life bad" she added
Armani stared at her blankly knowing she already knew
"the faster you do it the faster we can be out this depressing ass place" her nana said in her ear making her laugh
Armani's head traveled to all the things that's every went wrong in her life
A couple of minutes later Armani was finished telling her stuff
"wow ok" Dr.Thomas said clearly taken back
"how do you deal with all of that?" She asked
"I just do" Armani said truthfully
"do you have people that help you with that?" She asked
"like?" She asked
"friends, you can't be lonely" Dr.Thomas said
"wit all due respect I just told you bout 6 people that are my friend and bout my li sista and cousins, we're you not listening?" She asked
"I was" she said
"how do those people in your life make you feel?" She asked
"all of them?" Armani asked
"just family" She said
"I considered all of my friends family" Mani said making her look at her weird
"why's that?" She asked writing
