﹅comforting inupi, smiley, & ran after they had a nightmare

inui seishu [inupi]:

it's never been an uncommon occurrence for inui to have nightmares. he's grown accustomed to the events that play out in his dreams, whether it's the dreadful feeling of despair as he watches his sister slowly dying, or the disappointment and anger he can hear in shinichiro's words as he yells about how he ruined the black dragons, (he knows, but it still hurts to hear it from his voice).

it's never been anything that inui can't handle, so he's always kept it to himself, closed under lock and key.

it's not until a certain night that he finally is able to give the key to somebody else.

when you suddenly got a call from inui at 2 in the morning, you were immediately worried that something had gone horribly wrong and that something had happened to him during a fight. you weren't expecting to hear his shaky breaths on the other side of the line, quietly asking if you were alright. he wouldn't answer you when you asked him what was wrong, and he hung up before you could try to ask him anything else.

you immediately made your way over to his place seeing as there was obviously something wrong with him, quietly slipping out of your room and borrowing your parents car, (sure, you didn't have a driver's license yet, but that didn't really matter at the moment).

almost tripping on your way up the steps to his door, you quietly knocked on it so as not to suddenly scare him if he had fallen asleep again, (you hoped that he was here in the first place). you breathed out a sigh of relief when you heard the quiet sound of footsteps, but your relief was immediately washed away with worry when you saw inui at the door.

"seishu...what happened?" it was obvious from his red-rimmed eyes and the way he was holding himself that he had been crying, and you could feel a twinge in your heart just at the sight of him.

"(y/n)..." before you could even say another word to him, he wrapped his arms around your frame, his forehead resting on your shoulder. your heart nearly broke in two when you felt the way his arms shook and when you heard his shaky breaths; just what the hell had happened?

that wasn't a question for now though; instead, you slowly put your arms around him, starting to rub slow circles on his back as a way to try and help him calm down.

pressing kisses into his hair, you felt another twinge in your heart when you felt how his hands held you so tightly against him, almost like he was afraid that if he let you go that you would disappear forever, (that was how he truly felt in that moment though).

"seishu, why don't we go inside, hm?" after a nod from him, the two of you backed up a bit until you were able to close the door, locking it before giving him your full attention. he didn't seem to be the sort of mood to talk about what was going on, so you instead led him over to his bedroom, sitting him down on the edge and laying his head in your lap.

the silence between the two of you had faded into a comfortable one as you ran your fingers through his hair. he seemed to have calmed down considerably since you had first arrived, but you could tell that he was still a bit tense from whatever had happened.
