Chapter 7

The living room kept feeling heavier. Cher was in deep thought, planning on her head. Pauly was keeping a close eye on her and her reactions. Chaz was furious but he was trying to hide it. Elijah was trying to keep his grandma and aunt distracted from the others.

"Pauly, Chaz, Lijah please meet me in my office, stupid, I'm sorry but you need to leave" Cher suddenly said, the three nodded and did as told

"Why?" Gigi asked

"I love you but for your guys safety, I can't tell you. Please don't ask and stay together at one of your houses" Cher said

Gigi growled "But-"

"Georganne, your sister has her reasons and we can't push her to tell us her business so let's go. Let's go to your house, we'll be safer there. Plus, Eobar is there to keep us company right?" Georgia said

Cher stood up after them and kissed Georgia on the head "Thanks mom" then she kissed her sister goodbye

Cher went to her office where the other were. She was really agitated at that point. She sat on her desk and spoke "Alright, the situation just got worse. Mario's death is a message saying that we will get killed if we keep searching"

"Mom we can't stop now, we have been at this for years. Plus, I'm not gonna rest until my dads killer pays" Chaz said

Cher reached for her sons hand "We won't stop sweetheart, I promise whoever did it will pay"

"But what could've been the reason behind the murder?" Elijah asked

"Jealousy? In what I gathered from Mario, he had a thing for Mary in the past" Pauly cringed

"Gross" Chaz added

"Let's see, Sonny was ambitious, deceitful and manipulative. Perhaps Sonny did a few twist and turns and ruined someone" Cher said "He wouldn't hurt a fly but when it came to get something he wanted, Sonny did everything in his power to get it"

"Power" Chaz exclaimed "Dad had a lot of things and some people envied him for it. Maybe they killed him to get it and took something from him. They wouldn't have been able to get it while he was alive"

"You know what? I think you're right" Cher said "but what would be that something?"

"Mary and her kids have all his things in storage. We can search it and see what's missing" Pauly suggested "who has the key?"

"Christy has it, she's the oldest so she's in charge of it. Christy and Mary even went to court for the ownership of that storage. In the end Christy won, Mary is not her mom but was still his wife so she thought she had rights to it" Chaz explained

"Everyone knows it's the children who carry rights to his stuff" Elijah remarks, Chaz lifts his shoulders

"We need that key" Cher said

"I'll get into it now" Chaz said getting up

Cher nodded "I still need to plan the schedules for the next trades we're gonna get"

"You can work on that later tonight, now you need to work on your songs for the Christmas album" Pauly said, Cher groans which made her best friend giggle. They all stood up and left to do what they had to do.

Later that night, The scorpion clan was on the move. They had just received new orders from their boss, Luke "I'm only doing this as a favor to you, you are my Consigliere. Though you know it won't come without a cost" he said (Consigliere is like a counselor to the boss, pretty high but not high enough. In this story, Pauly is a Consigliere to Cher)

"I'll do anything but dark Lady can't find out what I did" a voice said "it will ruin me as Mario ruined me. That's why I killed him, before he ratted me out. It was long overdue since he was the reason I stopped working"

"About the job we're doing, are you sure the target is the right person?" Luke asked

"Yes"

"Then let's get to work" he said

The next day in the afternoon Cher was with Elijah and Pauly in the living room talking. Suddenly she receives a message with a photo.

"You want her back? Come and get her. -the scorpion clan" it read, it was a picture of Georganne tied up in a chair. She had several bruises and tape on handkerchief on her mouth. It appeared she was in a warehouse.

Cher gasped bringing the attention of her son and best friend "The scorpion clan has Georganne"

"Oh my god" Pauly said in shock

"Let's go, I'm gonna kill them" Cher said standing up

"No!!" Elijah said stopping her "I'll go, I'm taking a couple of guys with me. I promise to bring her home safe" Cher nodded and he went to the rescue.

Georganne was scared to say the least, she was looking at the masked man pacing in front of her "You must be really valuable for Dark Lady if we got the order to kidnap you" he said. There were like 10 more men surrounding the area. Georganne has no idea what the man was talking about. She was so scared, she couldn't even think. "This better be worth it or is just wasting the boss's time" Minutes later 15 men with white masks came bursting through every entrance "Palermo clan!!!" He shouted

The Palermo clan started shooting each of them "Get away from her!!" The leader shouted getting beside Gigi.

"Dark lady will never find who she's after so she better stop looking" then man before running off.

Kneeling beside Gigi and taking off the mask, Elijah talked "Aunt Gigi don't be scared, I'm here now" he said

"Elijah?" She said, when he untied her they embraced her into a hug. As expected, Gigi was shaking and crying. "Let's go home" all Gigi could do was nod
