Chapter 17- Celebration

Klavier played a calm tune as we watched the sun set.
It was so beautiful. The transition from blue to pink to purple to black, as the big, bright sun disappeared from beyond our line of sight.

I put my head against Apollo's chest, his fingers going through my hair as we watched the sky.

"Attention, everyone!"
Nick knocked on his glass.
Everyone looked at him.

"...
I was about to say something inspirational but I forgot."

"...ANYWAYS, Apollo is out of custody now. That's nice."

"Yeyyy! Polly!"
Trucy cheered.

"...Yeyyy...!"
Apollo said awkwardly.

"I remember the first day I saw you freaking out over me choosing you to defend me instead of Mr. Gavin.
It's been a year, could you imagine?"
Phoenix chuckled.

"Can you blame me? My first trial, defending a legend, AND I overdone my chords of steel. It was F I N E."
Apollo joked.

"And how you came to the 'Wright Talent Agency' without reading the sign up front."
Trucy added.

"How do you find a place without reading the sign...?"
I was puzzled.

"The Wright and Co. Offices was very famous, so I just went to this location assuming it'll be there. It was also the address on the card boss gave me when we met."
Apollo explained.

"And how you found my magic panties on your first day!"

"HUH?! Should I make an arrest, Mr. Justice?"
Detective Ema almost choked on her drink.

"W-WAIT THIS ISN'T HOW IT SOUNDS LIKE-"

"Relax, fräulein detective.
Fräulein Wright is referring to the funny piece of clothing she usually uses in her magic shows."
Klavier snickered under his breath.

"Ohhhhhh... um, r-right, oops."
Detective Ema Skye was embarrassed about forgetting that detail.

"Well, look at you now, a year later.
A great defence attorney.
And you somehow managed to bump into Y/N here. LITERALLY."
Nick continued.

I remember that day.
"I was so surprised, scared and anxious. I thought I didn't have a future since I didn't really have a plan on how to get a job."

Apollo hugged me closer.

"I swear, when I saw you two, I saw the potential. And Y/N trying to learn how to be a lawyer was just too perfect.
I had to take this chance and see you in action."

"It's official, everyone! Mr. Wright was a matchmaker and an Apollo Justice x Y/N L/N shipper!"
Ema exclaimed.

"WHAT THE HELL, BOSS?!

I admitted.

"I was in a hurry because of my messed up clock--- Was it... destiny...?
And all those floods-"
Apollo was amazed.

"Y/N, it's THE time to break up with Polly before he gets even more cheesy."
Trucy quickly said.

"NOOOO DON'T LEAVE MEHHHH"
Apollo was holding me tight.

"I suppose herr forehead drank a little too much."
Klavier noted.

I placed a small kiss on Apollo's lips.
"I'm not leaving you. You are too cute, kind and handsome for that."
I giggled and he calmed down.

"Cute? Kind? Handsome?
Are you sure you are not describing me, fräulein?"

"Don't ruin the moment, rock head."
Ema rolled her eyes.

"AS I WAS SAYING,
Y/N proved herself to be a great lawyer, but she just needed some practice and experience.
So I offered Apollo to be her mentor, and the rest is history.

Let's drink for Apollo Justice, everyone!"
Nick raised his glass.

"For Apollo!"
Ema followed suit.

"To Polly!!"

"To herr forehead!"

"To you."
I smiled softly.

"Okay, so, Y/N.
I don't think I've ever seen any beginner like you.
You managed to save Apollo in one day from a very difficult case. I think that even a defence attorney with years under his belt would've struggled."
Phoenix started speaking again.
"Even though in the beginning you kinda reminded me of myself, you ended up being so much more."

"N-Nick... t-thanks... I appreciate it..."
I got very emotional.

"For fräulein L/N."

"For Y/N!"
Trucy jumped.

"For Y/N. And for the future of the justice system."
Nick smiled.

"For Y/N!"
Ema joined.

"...for Y/N."
Apollo said.

Our faces inched closer.
My eyes slightly flattered shut as he cupped my cheek.
And we kissed.

Here I am.
Surrounded by my friends and business partners.

Celebrating US.

There's no doubt-

THIS is the best day ever.
