In Disguise

Chapter #2

As me and Skye sat in the boring gray room I began playing with my dark hair.

"You guys are making a big mistake." Skye said to the two men

"You don't look that big." The younger man said looking towards her

"Sorry for the lack of finesse. Agent Ward here has had a little history with your group – The Rising Tide."

So that's his name Ward weird name for a guy

"I don't know... what you're-" Skye began but was cut off

"Okay, there are two ways we can do this." Ward said looking at the two of us

"Oh, is one of them the easy way?" Skye said looking confident

"No." Ward told her with a flat tone

"Oh." She said looking down

"What are your names?" Coulson asked

"Skye." Skye told them

"Alice" I said afterwards.

"What's your real name?" He asked us both and we shared a look.

"That can wait. It's another name we need, a certain hero." Coulson said looking at us

"What makes you think she knows that?" I said giving them a glare

"Well, she made a little mistake. The phone she filmed the hooded hero with had the same cryptographic signature as a few of the Rising Tide posts." Coulson said sitting down

"Wow. Yeah. Was that a mistake? Or am I now sitting in the center of your secret headquarters? What is this? A plane? I got inside. And, by now, you've discovered you can't beat the encryption on my equipment, so you got nothing." Skye snapped at the two of them

"We have a fairly strong coincidence. You being on the scene right before it went up in flames. Want to tell me what my team is gonna find out? How did you know the hooded man was in the building?" Coulson asked us

"I didn't I don't work for the rising tide I just live with Skye"

"Did you blow it up to draw him out?" Ward asked ignoring my comment But Coulson looked at me

"Did you?" Skye asked

"That's not our style." Coulson told her

"I was just kidnapped by your "style". S.H.I.E.L.D. covered up New Mexico, Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. Of course you'd be covering up Centipede." At their confused faces Skye smiles "Holy- No way. You don't know what that is. Billions of dollars of equipment at your disposal and I beat you with a laptop I won in a bet?" She laughed

"What's centipede?" I asked her and she just smiled at me.

"You need to think about your friend. We're not the only ones interested in people with powers. We'd like to contain him, yeah. The next guy will want to exploit him and the guy after that will want to dissect him." Coulson sighed

Skye looked at me in worry as my face was full of fear that they thankfully didn't notice.

"What is centipede?" Ward asked getting in her face.

Skye began pacing

"Centipede, it was chatter on the web and then, gone. I traced the access point MAC address to that building." She told them

"What were you after?" Ward asked

"The truth. What are you after?" She snapped

"World peace. You pseudo-anarchist hacker types love to stir things up." He said standing "But you're never around for the fallout. People keep secrets for a reason, Skye." He said walking towards her
