Ava would quickly make her way down to the armory, where Neos and Sub had been spending a lot of their time at for the past few weeks, with Steve following behind her. Once they finally managed to reach the door to the armory that rested on the bottom floor of the castle, Ava wouldn't waste any time as she opened the door as quick as she could and would immediately prepare to ask the question; however, both her and Steve were met with a sight that would catch the two of them off guard.
Steve: Ummm, Sub? Now, I'm sure this is a question I should probably know the answer to, but may I ask why your hair's blue?
Steve and Ava's eyes remained locked on the sight of the dark blue haired individual as they were still able to notice the beginning of his original black coloring at the roots of his hair. Matching his hair was a dark blue shirt that he was wearing, along with black sweatpants that had two dark blue stripes going down each side.
Neos: Wait, you mean to tell me you haven't seen it yet? He's had his hair like this all morning. Trust me, this isn't something that he just now finished or anything.
Steve: Wait, why did you suddenly decide to change it?
Sub: The same reason everyone that's ever dyed their hair does it, I guess: I just thought it would look cool. That, and I thought that it would go well with me seeing as how it's blue and I'm the Alpha Elemental, ya know?
Ava: Oh, I get it! Wait a minute! Does that mean we get to dye Neos' hair red and Steve's green?!
Neos: Hahaha! You guys are funny. The first person that even attempts to dye my hair, I am setting fire to your room, and I will not feel bad about it when I do, understand?
Steve: Yeah, I'm not much for the idea, either. I'm quite fond of my hair the way it is. Besides, I don't think I could pull it off as well as Sub. It really does look great, man.
Sub: Thanks! I was hoping you guys would like it as much as I do.
Throughout the entire conversation conversation, Neos remained seated at a table in the corner of the room with a multitude of different parts and tools surrounding him as he continued to tinker around with a little watch-like object that had piqued Steve's interest.
Steve: Whatcha got there, Neos?
Neos: Eh, just a little something that Sub and I have been working on for the past few weeks. I'm handling the creation of it while Sub is managing the programming because, well, I'm not half as smart as Sub is, so I feel like having him handle that part is just for the best.
Steve: That seems reasonable enough, but what exactly is it?
Neos: Well, I can't tell you that much just yet. That part's a secret.
Steve: Oh, come on. I'm your 'older' brother, you can tell me anything.
Neos: Listen here, buddy, you may be older physically, but that doesn't change the fact that we all know who was born first.
Steve: Hehe, fair enough, I suppose.
Ava: Ok, enough talking about a weird looking watch. It's time for some serious discussion.
Steve: Oh man, here we go.
Ava: Sub. Neos. Can you please explain to Steve that summer is way better than winter and that it's not even reasonable to compare the two?
Neos: You're right, it's not reasonable to compare them. The sun that summer brings is nothing compared to the snow and cool breezes that winter has to offer.
Ava: What?! You're siding with Steve?! Neos, I thought I could trust you!
Neos: In all fairness, we're brothers. You should've known that the chances of us preferring the same season were pretty high.
Ava: Man, that means I lose the argument because we all know that Sub's favorite's winter. I mean, he literally has ice and water powers. Not to mention, he lived in the mountains for a long time.
Sub: What do you mean? I've always enjoyed summer more than winter.
Steve: Wait, really?
Sub: Yeah, of course! Sure, I lived in the mountains forever, but that made me love summer even more because it actually got somewhat warm up there, and believe me when I say that after having to deal with the cold for the majority of the year, you really grow to appreciate the heat.
Steve: I guess that's fair. How about we just agree that they're both great, ok?
Ava: Ugh! Fine! I guess it beats saying that winter's better.
Steve: Wait, did you guys hear that?
Neos: You mean the part where she just admitted to winter being better? Yeah, I heard it.
Ava: Wait, I did not! That's not even close to what I meant!
Steve: Really? That's what I heard.
Ava: Oh, you are so dead!
Steve: Not if you can't catch me!
Steve would quickly exit the door with Ava chasing him down, shutting the door behind her, leaving Neos and Sub remaining in the room.
Neos: Those two are perfect for each other, don't ya think?
Sub: I couldn't have said it better myself. Although, is it just me, or does Steve seem a bit.. different?
Neos: How do you mean?
Sub: I just mean that he seems to be more joyful than normal ever since Ava moved in. Don't get me wrong, I'm into it, I just can't believe that he's suddenly like that, ya know?
Neos: Well, from a brother's perspective, I'll tell you what I think... I think that he's finally finding his way back to who he was before all of this started...
Sub: I'm not quite sure I'm following? You have to remind yourself that I didn't know you guys until this all started.
Neos: What I mean is that he's been way more uptight the past two years than he ever was before. Now that everything seems to finally be going well again, it's like his mind's finally telling him that he can relax for a bit...
Sub: Hm... Maybe you've got a point there.
Neos: Now, we can only hope that he continues to revert back into who he was before this all started.. because I've missed that person more than anything...
Sub: You can say that again...
