Once the three had made their selection of individual pints of ice cream at the grocery store, they went to grab Bucky's car, and then made their way home for another round of movie night.

Tonight's showing included the third Star Wars movie Empire Strikes Back.

"This is my favorite part!" Rori shouted from her mom's side. She moved from being tucked into her side, to just a few feet from the screen.

"Why my child's favorite part of the movie is where the main character gets his arm cut off, I'll never know," Y/N chuckled with a small shake of her head.

"It's not about his arm being cut off," Rori shook her head as she kept watching the screen. "It's when he learns who his father is."

Bucky and Y/N both stiffened at that. Rori not even realizing the irony behind it as she was engrossed in the story infront of her. That's a lie she knew the irony, she just didn't know what irony meant.

The two slowly turned their head to each other and shared a look before Y/N broke it and nervously looked away.

Movie night was kind of quiet after that besides Rori saying lines here and there from memory getting a laugh out of Bucky and her mom.

Sooner or later it was bedtime however and Y/N started getting her daughter ready for a night of rest after a long grueling evening. Closing the door behind her, she let out a long sigh with Bucky in the hall.

"And she's down. You would think someone who just broke their arm would be exhausted from the day, but-"

"Kid's got some energy," Bucky laughed.

"You're telling me," Y/N chuckled before the two moved to the kitchen.

It was quiet after that as Y/N moved around cleaning up things and Bucky did the few dishes they had over at the sink. They had had enough movie nights and hangout sessions for Rori at this point that it was normal to coexist like this.

But... There was a lingering topic in the air that needed to be brought up that neither had whispered.

As Bucky finished the last bowl he was washing, before putting it on the drying rack, he kept trying to come up with just one sentence that could ease them both into the conversation.

They had discussed telling Rori before her birthday and it was this weekend. Neither had brought it up really since the initial conversation. Bucky didn't want to push and Y/N wasn't sure when was a good time.

Luckily for him, he didn't have to choose how to bring it up because Y/N had spoke up before he had to.

"Friday," Y/N said as she came and leaned on the counter next to the sink.

"Friday?" Bucky asked, acting confused to make sure he wasn't reading the conversation wrong.

"Yes, I think Friday would be an ideal time," Y/N nodded, crossing her arms and looking down at her feet as she spoke.

"Just to be sure, we are talking about..." he paused.

"Rori," Y/N smiled, looking up at him as he dried his hands. "I'm sorry I haven't really brought it up since that day at the coffee shop," she sighed, turning more toward him. "I think I just kinda got caught up in the fact we were all getting along and living our day to day lives so well."

"I get it," Bucky nodded, mocking her stance and putting the dish rag down. "It's been a nice few weeks of just getting to know her better and better."

"With that being said, some of her personality traits are becoming more and more clear on where they came from," she said, raising a teasing eye with a smirk on her lip.
