"Request OR for Mrs. Pineda, inform me once OR is ready" sabi ko sa nursing station at nilapag ko ang chart ng patient ko, "Yes doc. Ay nga pala doc, meron ka po palang operation mamayang hapon. CABG po" sabi ng nurse sa akin, I nodded and smiled

I already finished my rounds kaya naman pumunta ako ng canteen para bumili ng kape, "Good afternoon po doc" bati sa akin ng tindera sa canteen, "Hello po manang"

I felt someone bumped me kaya naman tumalikod ako, "Angelo!" angal ko pero tinawanan lang niya ako, "We work at the same hospital pero halos hindi kita makita" sabi niya sa akin habang nag lalakad kami para umupo sa isa sa mga bakanteng mesa

"Sorry naman super busy ko kaya" biro ko sa kanya, he laughed "Damn, ilang years na ba? 6 years?", I nodded at him, 6 years na ang nakalipas, I finished my pre med sa Iloilo, then I took my NMAT and applied sa UST for med school, those 4 years in med school was tough, I lived in a condo near my school, I'm glad kasi minsan binibisita ako ni Ate Fiona

4 years in med school was actually much better than my years in residency, residency was hell, pero luckily I survived, and now I'm an attending doctor here in St. Luke's, laking gulat ko ng malaman ko na dito din pala nag tatrabaho si Angelo sa St. Luke's, he's one of the head nurses her now

"Babalik akong Iloilo next month" sabi ni Angelo na ikinagulat ko, I thought he would stay here for good, "Bakit naman?" I asked him, "Masyado na akong nalayo sa pamilya ko, you know I worked in Dubai for 5 years, tapos nung matapos ang contrata ko dito naman ako sa Manila nag trabaho, miss na ata ako ng nanay ko" he laughed. Bigla akong nalungkot, I also miss my family. Sila mommy, daddy at si Macey.

I was doing my rounds when the head of the Cardiology department called me, "Yes po doc?" I asked, she smiled at me "Hija, I saw your email, are you sure you want to resign?" she asked me, she looks a bit worried, ngumiti lamang ako, "Yes doc, I miss my family and I was to settle there in Iloilo po"

She sighed but she smiled at me after, "You are one of our greatest Cardiologist here, Celestine. Sayang kasi aalis ka na, pero I understand your reasons. I'll fix your resignation letter"

"Thank you po, doc" I smiled, umalis na siya kaya pumunta akong nurses station para tignan ang chart ng patients ko, I was feeling a bit light headed, siguro dahil na din sa stress and lack of sleep, I felt someone's presence behind me

I looked back and saw Angelo, "Himala napadpad ka sa station namin", I chuckled, "I was covering Doc Renzo's shift kaya ako andito, I clearly forgot ikaw pala ang head nurse dito", umakto siya na kukurutin ako, "Pasalamat ka  at doctor ka, hindi kita pwede ma kurot", he said at umalis na din para icheck ang ibang charts

"Doc" tawag ng isang nurse sa akin, I looked at her and smiled "Yes?"

"Boyfriend mo po ba si sir Angelo?" she asked, agad naman tumaas ang kilay ko at tumawa ng mahina "Oh gosh no. We were classmates way back in college, and we're good friends. Bakit? Crush mo?" I teased her, she blushed a bit

It was a tiring day at the hospital, well 3 days to be exact. I had no sleep for 3 days, gosh! Gusto ko na matulog! My resignation letter was approved, tomorrow is my last day at work kaya I booked a flight to Iloilo a day after that, I was tired pero na excite ako kasi uuwi na ako ng Iloilo

I called ate Fiona to tell her that I'm going back, she reunited with her baby daddy and kasal na sila ngayon, "Ate naman, as if naman kailangan mo pa ako dito no" agad naman ako nakarinig ng sermon mula sa kanya kaya tumawa na lamang ako, uuwi na ako, finally. I know there is a big possibility na magkita ulit kami, may pamilya na ba siya? Siguro meron na? Sampung taon na ang naka lipas. Kumirot bigla ang dibdib ko, I smirked, I still am in love with him

The flight was not that tiring since 1-2 hours lang naman, I looked around me, I'm here. I'm home

"I'm back"
