The town's people had once again congregated around the creature discovered lying in the dirt, precisely where Taehyung had been found a few days ago. When the dwarves arrived, the crowd made way for them, gasping at the sight of the boy they had almost buried alive, looking as ravishing as ever.

"I know how strong you are, Jungkook, but I do not think you will be able to carry it home," said Namjoon with a defeated sigh.

Jungkook moved through the crowd to get a better look at the horse covered in dust and wounds, mane tangled and tail encrusted with mud. Next to him, a loud sob. Taehyung stumbled onto his knees to wrap his arms around the limp neck.

Jungkook's heart broke once more. Why did fate hound the boy so, he wondered, fearing they had not yet seen the end of it? Destiny was, after all, well-known for the numerous tricks up its sleeve.

"Is it alive?" someone asked.

Through his tears, Taehyung let out a hopeful sigh. "She's breathing!"

It had been two weeks since the horse had been rescued. No other victim of whatever curse was after the pretty boy — as the folks now called him — had appeared since, to everyone's relief. The animal was still weak from the harsh journey, but the love and care it received was beginning to show as it could presently trot around the house without exerting itself.

The dwarves hardly ran into Taehyung any more, for he would leave at dawn and return after dark, his days solely devoted to his four-legged companion.

Jungkook wondered where the boy slept at night, because his bed was always empty when he stirred. Jin helped lessen his concerns by assuring him that the food he would set on the table every evening was gone by morning, and the dishes, done. "He's fine. I'm sure that as soon as his horse is healed, we'll see more of him."

"I miss him, hyung."

Jin gave a comforting pat to his shoulders. "I know you do."

The words did not ease Jungkook's longing, which explained why he was presently sitting at the empty dinner table, doing his best to resist the arms of Morpheus despite the late hour. When the front door let out a small creak, the sleepy dwarf stood up at once and dashed toward it, stumbling in the dark.

Taehyung jumped as a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind. "Kookie? Is that you?"

The youngster hummed, rubbing his forehead on Taehyung's temple. "Taehyung, where have you been?"

The prince smiled, recalling his own words. Returning the hug, his fingers found their way into the soft raven hair. Jungkook's grasp tighten ever so faintly. He had to make sure this was no dream. Or nightmare, rather, like the ones that visited at night, and in which Taehyung would vanish in his hold, leaving him lost, cold, and lonely.

What a relief it was to feel the heat of a breath on his skin, and to hear the beating of a heart matching his own pulse. No wonder he was reluctant to let go.

"Kookie?" Taehyung's voice was as gentle as the fingers carding through his locks.

"Yes?"

"Moonshine isn't healing as fast as she could."

"Moonshine? Is that its name?"

Taehyung chuckled softly. "It's a she and yes, that is what she is called."

"I see."

"Wait." Taehyung's hands had found Jungkook's face in the dark, and his eyes had widened to better assess its expression. "Are you pouting?"

"No!"

"Kookie! Are you jealous? Of a horse?"

The blushing youngster could not possibly admit to that. "I am not!"

But there was no point trying to fool the hunter. "Fine. Maybe I am. Just a little," Jungkook confessed. "You spend so much time with her and I — well, I have no — "

He was silenced mid-sentence by the softest peck on his lips. It was warm, sweet, and short. Frustratingly so.

"I did not know how to shut you up," Taehyung said, a hint of guilt in his voice.

A giddy smile grew on Jungkook's face. Had he not hushed him so once before? Yet how could he tell him the kiss left him wanting more? Lacking words but not courage, the young one closed the gap between their chests and dove in for another one. When they emerged, a little dizzy, Jungkook lost himself in Taehyung's hooded gaze. "You know what," he whispered to avoid breaking the mood, "I am no longer jealous of Moonshine."

This threw the prince into a fit of giggles, the sounds of which Jungkook adored. "Come. It is late and you need to sleep."

Taehyung, however, did not move. And was that a pout blossoming on his lips? "How can I sleep when I just want more kisses?"

Had Jungkook caught that correctly? He noticed Taehyung had slapped a hand over his mouth, and despite the obscurity, he could swear his ears and cheeks had put on a lovely shade of blush. He had no idea what had got into either of them, but he heard himself reply candidly, "I can take care of that."
