Chapter Forty Three : Acorns & Roses Both Grow Thorns

Sally's POV

I was wrong, and Amy was enjoying every bit of it. The human wasn't Oz, but instead some other doppelgänger called Shades. While Amy gloated, Tails showed me Rouge's note.

"Do you know how you came here?" I asked. Shades shook his head. I sighed, "Alright..."

"So now what?" Amy questioned cockily, "We still have a human missing."

"Where can I find him?" Shades startled us. He blushed from embarrassment, "I meant, what can I do to help?"

"I-I'm not sure," I admitted, "Nicole?"

The holo-lynx was distracted. She was talking with Tails about Omega, "The memory chip is fried again. It was too small to handle the info coming from the cortex."

Tails looked at the miles electric, "I'm seeing some unusual patterns on his tracker. I think this is what caused the overload."

I said, "What'd you mean unusual patterns?"

"Here, take a look," He turned the screen for us to see. "It's an extremely high signature of Chaos Energy. Too much to be one Emerald. And their popping up everywhere."

"Is it all the Emeralds?"

Tails turned the miles electric back around so he could change the settings, "It's hard to say. I'm not sure what Omega's been tracking, but if I can try to match the energy pattern with a Chaos Emerald's, I can pinpoint which of the signatures is the real deal!"

"Tails, you're a genius!" Amy said.

Shades raised a brow, "What does this have to do with anything?"

I explained, "The Chaos Emeralds will lead us closer to bringing you and Oz home."

"And what about him?"

"We're still looking," I said, remembering the note, "He's only been missing for a day. There aren't many leads to go on."

Tails exclaimed, "Aha! I got it!"

We all looked to see Tails' screen. He told us, "I've localized the most similar pattern to the Emeralds, and an energy reading this big, it's got to be all seven!" 

"I'll go," I said. I need to get out of this castle. "Tails, forward me the signal on my watch."

"You'll need backup," The fox advised.

"I'll be you're backup," Shades offered.

Tails intercepted, "I need you here. You're the only one Omega listens to, and I have to bring him to my lab to fix him."

Amy added, "Plus, when we find out where Oz is, we'll need you're help to go find him."

Shades relented, ordering Omega to go to the lab. The human followed out.

I assured, "I'll call Bunnie and Antoine. They can help me retrieve the Emeralds."

As I was about to leave the room, Tails said, "Amy, go with her."
