Marine's POV

My crew and I took sail in the arvo, the wind blowing in the sails of the Doubloon! I, Great Captain Marine, stood on the bow as the rest of the bludgers gave the Aussie salute by the stern. Deadset!

Then, a bloody giant kraken came out of the depths! That bogan looked like he stumbled from a bottle-o after too many cold ones!

I looked to my sister, first mate Blaze, as she pulled a durry from her mouth and said, "Oi! 'Bout time we had a barbie, aye, Captain?"

I grinned, "Defo!"

The maiden Sonia cried out, "Great Captain! The ship will burn down if we do! I'll sink!"

The second mate, Mighty, held his maiden, "No Wuckas, my love! I'll carry you with my super strength!" The maiden jumped into his arms, giving him a pash on the cheek!

I rolled my eyes at them, "Quartermaster Ray! Where's the weak point on that galah?"

"I reckon it's in the eye, Captain!" Ray replied from the crow's nest!

"Good on ya!" I told him! I climbed the mast, where the cabin boy Manic was cowering!

With my cutlass in my teeth, I grabbed the rope and swung around! I flew in the air! I raised my cutlass above my head to strike! And I--!

Okay, I let this go on for too long.

Aw!! Please!! I was getting to the best part!

No, you're not a reliable narrator.

Oh!! Piss off, then!!

Hey! Watch your mouth!

Rack off!! Whatever! I don't care!

Hmph. Alright, let's try this again...

Ray's POV

It was a perfect day for sailing. Cloudless sky, calm waters, a light breeze from the north...

"Oi!" Marine shouted, startling me. From the crow's nest, I watched her scurry up the mast with a book in her jaws. She sat on the railing and spit out the book, "I need you read that!"

I half-smiled, "A-another chapter?"

She handed me a red pen from her pocket, a huge grin on her face, "Yep!"

I wiped any saliva off the book with my scarf, then took the red pen from the eager raccoon. Marine excitedly talked, "This one is gnarly, I tell ya! A real ripper! I reckon it's my best one yet! You'll love it! Bloody oath!"

"Sounds p-promising," I said, flipping open to the most recent page of her fanfiction. Marine was passionate about sailing, but had a hobby for writing fanfiction about us. I found it once and since then I've had to edit it for her. But I don't mind. Her writing isn't that bad, but her handwriting is.

"Hey! You two!" Mighty called to us, "What're you doing up there?"

"Nothing!" Marine said quickly, blushing. She took her book and jumped. She was caught by Mighty, just barely, and she hurried off below deck.
