18. New Year

It was New Year's Eve and the party was tonight. Everyone was coming, Remus and Tonks, Sirius, Kingsley, loads of wizards and their family's from Arthur's work even mad eye said he'd stop by. Molly had told you that Charlie was supposed to be there, you along with the rest of the Weasleys hadn't seen him in quite some time.
You and Fred and George were sitting in the living room at the burrow attempting to help Molly and stay out of her way all at the same time. There were muggle decorations everywhere tinsel and streamers lots of balloons too, it looked great.
"You looking forward to tonight" you asked Fred and George
"Totally" Fred said "Angelina and her parents are coming"
"Ohhhhh" you made some kissing noises at him making him blush and he shoved you hard making you tumble backwards
"Shut it" Fred and Angelina had gotten back on good terms after she came around and told George everything.
"Are any other friends from hogwarts coming" you asked
"Uhm Wood might stop by, Lee is obviously gonna be here, the Lovegoods" Fred listed
"Yeah that's about it" George said
"The burrow is going to be packed"
"You've got that right"
"It'll be fun though, dressing up, dancing.... All of it"
"I definitely think tonight will end in a bang" Fred smirked and George hit him. Molly dropped something in the kitchen and you ran in to help, she had platters full of food everywhere.
"Molly this is amazing" you said picking up the pieces of the broken dish
"Oh it's nothing really" she smiled
"It is" you exclaimed "and it all smells so good....be careful or all of your kids are going to be in here stealing food before the party"
"You're right about that this is wicked mom" Fred said taking a bite out of a small pie
"Fredrick Gideon Weasley" Molly scolded him "get out of my kitchen" he laughed and ran off.
"you better go get ready dear" Molly told you and you excused yourself to Ginnys room. Ginny and Hermione were already upstairs getting ready when you came in. Hermione had opted for a red velvet off the shoulder dress and Ginny was in a black spaghetti strap dress with gold stars on it.
"You guys" you squealed "you look great"
Hermione laughed as she curled her hair in front of the mirror
"I do don't I" Ginny said giving you a spin making you laugh too
"Alright I need to get dressed people are going to start showing up any minute" you said pulling your dress out of the bag. You pulled it on and slipped into your heels before looking at your hair in the mirror. You pulled out your wand to fix up your hair since you were never really good at it, you gave yourself a low bun with hair tucked around a headband.
"Wow Samantha you look beautiful" Hermione said walking up behind you "don't forget this" she said putting your locket on for you
"Thanks mione" you said adjusting the necklace a bit.
"I'm going down" Ginny said before slipping out the door
"Bet she's going to find Harry" you chuckled
"Doubt it.... Deans supposed to be here tonight"
"I always thought she liked Harry"
"I did too but after she mentioned Dean I asked her about it and she said she felt like things were easier with him"
"Well no shit it's easier with dean he's not the fucking chosen one"
"My thoughts exactly" Hermione sighed "well I'm going down, I'll see you in a few"
You were left alone in Ginnys room and you could hear the voices of everyone downstairs. You looked out the window at all of the wizards arriving everyone dressed in their best. You gave yourself a small spray of your favorite perfume and headed downstairs. The living room was already packed but you immediately spotted Remus and Sirius who you hurried over to
"Samantha" Remus said wrapping you in a hug before stepping back and letting Sirius have a turn. The moment you met each of them you knew you'd get along and they always treated you like part of their own family
"Did you have a good Christmas" you asked them both
"Wonderful dear" Sirius answers
"Same with us" Tonks came up behind Remus and answered for him
"Tonks!" You grabbed her in a tight hug. Tonks was like the cooler older sister you never had, but she also treated you like her own daughter. She was the one your wrote an owl to whenever you had a problem at school or even if you just felt lonely.
"How have you been I feel like we barely had a chance to write this term" she asked you
"I know there's so much I have to fill you in on"
"Oh goody" Sirius said "girl talk" you gently punched his arm and rolled your eyes. But before you could start telling Tonks about everything that's been going on you felt a large hand on the small of your back, you looked up and saw that it was George
"Can I steal Samantha for a moment" he asked the three adults
"Go right ahead" Remus smiled
"We'll catch up later" Tonks said. You turned and followed George through the crowded room and into the hall
"I'm sorry for interrupting but.... I just I saw you walk down the stairs and my god you're stunning and I had to tell you"
"George..." you blushed
"No stop you're gorgeous" he said taking a step closer to you, your back up against the wall. You thought back to the summer when you were in a similar situation the night of the bonfire. George laughed
"Seems like we've been here before"
"It seems so" you smiled up at him. Your heart was beating like crazy and you tried to steady your breath , staying cool on the outside. George pressed into you gently and leaned down slightly leaving a kiss on your cheek
"I want to show you something" he took your hand In his and set off again, this time for the stairs. You both hurried up the staircase hoping no one saw you and went all the way to the top. George opened the window in his bedroom and climbed out, holding his hand for you to do the same
"It's fine, I've got you" you hesitantly climbed out the window onto the roof
"Don't forget I'm in heels"
"Don't worry" George took you over to the edge of the roof and sat down. You sat next to him adjusting your dress
"It's nice up here" you smiled over at him "how come you haven't shown me this before"
"I don't share this with anyone"
"What about Fred" you asked
"Not even Fred"
"I really want this to be special Samantha" George looked very nervous and he kept fidgeting. He took something out of his pocket and threw it up into the air, around you small fireworks went off everywhere. They dance around the two of you, giving you your own personal show. One of the small fireworks came close to you and you put your hand out flat seeing if it may land on you. It hovered above your hand for a moment before exploding in the air leaving behind the words I love you spelled out in brilliant light. You sat there for a moment your hand still reaching out unsure of what to do. You turned to face George who had been watching you the whole time
"George it's....."
"Hang on" George interrupted you "Samantha I've loved you for longer than I can remember now. You were always more to me than my best friend, and honestly I never thought I'd get to tell you this and I know this probably seems a bit backwards.... I mean for Merlin sake we aren't even dating or anything" George let out a breath and you could see his hands were shaking "I know I've caused you pain and it kills me to know that but I promise I'm going to do whatever I can to make it up to you. You're everything to me.... And I love you" you stared up at George and you felt your heart leap when he said he loved you. It was everything you had ever hoped for and yet you felt a little uneasy
"I'm not going to lie George, I still feel hurt after everything that happened" you started "it felt weird you being someone I trusted so much turning on me. But I know you meant everything you said, and I never imagined how amazing it would be to hear you say that" you smiled and blushed a little bit "George I love you too" George looked unbelievably relieved when you said that and a huge smile spread across his face
"Samantha Green that is the best thing I've ever heard you say" he laughed pulling you closer "can I kiss you" he asked slowly leaning in
"George weasley that is the best thing I've ever heard you say" you laughed "of course you can" you whispered and you connected your lips to his. Out of nowhere full sized fireworks lit up the sky making you jump a bit
"How did you..."
"I may have had a bit of help"
"Fred" you both said at the same time. George leaned back down kissing your lips again gently. Your stomach filled with butterfly's and you felt yourself melt in his arms. You moved your lips in synch as George's hands began to roam up and down your body, slowly feeling every part of you. His hands finally came to a stop at your butt and he grabbed you tightly making you gasp into his mouth. You had your hands wrapped around his neck and you gently played with his hair. George's lips moved from yours and traveled down your neck, he stopped to nip and suck at the sensitive skin making you let out a breathy moan. You could feel him smirk against your skin
"You like that" he asked and you just nodded. You pulled him back up to your lips eager to taste him again
"Tonks said you were up here but she didn't say you were making out with some random girl"
Both you and George jumped when you heard a voice behind you. You turned around and Charlie's mouth dropped open
"I stand corrected. Not some random girl, Samantha Green" Charlie laughed "it's about fucking time, George has had a thing for you since you first met"
"Is that so" you laughed turning to George
"Shut up" he pushed his brother and let you climb through the window before him, gently pinching your butt as you went making you jump.
"When did you get here" George asked
"Just a few minutes before I was up here breaking up your snogging session" you could feel your cheeks were definitely red and you kept straightening your dress
"Yeah thanks for that" George playfully pushed his brother as the three of you headed downstairs.
"You might want to fix that before my mum sees" Ginny said walking up to you
"Fix what"
"Those hickeys on your neck" she said poking one
"Oh my god" you covered your neck with your hands and hurried over to Hermione
"I need you in the bathroom right now" you dragged her away from Harry and Ron into the bathroom
"What's going on" she asked and you took your hand off of your neck
"This" you said pointing to the hickeys
"Oh my" she laughed and pulled out her wand "who did that"
"Who do you think"
"Not... George" she gasped and smiled
"Yes George, and I need you to fix them" you whined at her
"Alright hang on" Hermione thought for a moment and then gave one swish of her wand and you watched the hickeys disappear in the mirror
"Thank you Hermione, you're a life saver"
"Anytime" she smiled and left the bathroom. When you came out George was waiting for you, he cocked his head to the side and frowned
"Where'd they go" he asked
"Are you kidding? I had Hermione get rid of them"
"Why I liked them"
"Because your mother would kill you George" you laughed and headed back out to the party together. You sat with Fred, Lee and Angelina for a while as she told you about her Christmas holiday
"It's almost midnight" Arthur  shouted getting everyone's attention. They all hurried out to the yard and began counting
"Ten"
You looked down and George was reaching for your hand
"Nine"
you smiled up at him
"Eight"
his amber eyes twinkled down at you and he pulled you closer
"Seven"
He pulled your back against his chest and wrapped his arms around you
"Six"
He kissed your head
"Five"
George leaned down and whispered in your ear
"Four"
"I'm in love with you Samantha Green"
"Three"
You turned around in his arms to face him
"Two"
George brushed a piece of hair out of your face
"One"
He leaned down
"Happy new year" everyone shouted around you while fireworks went off and George kissed you. Not as gently this time, there was a passion or fire behind this kiss. Like he'd never get to taste your lips again.
