Chapter 15 - Assimilation

Author notes: Hi everyone, guess what? I finally got chapter 15 done at long last! I'm really sorry this one took so long. I had my dissertation last year and had started working after I graduated so that I've been taken up by other things. I seem to also keep getting Writer's Block, which really doesn't help. But anyway, I have now written the next installment and I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 15 - Assimilation

Of all things she expected after returning from patrol, this was not one of them. It was half an orn since the incident involving an anomaly trapping the Autobots and Decepticons in another dimension and since then, a small pocket of peace fell upon both sides. This of course would only last so long, hinted by a hasty yet troubling meeting with the Deception Second in Command and the Autobot Leader, revealing the true nature of the Warlord's motives.

"Wait, so Megatron's getting you into all of this now?" Shadeweaver quizzed, baffled.

"Apparently," the Decepticon vented, "I don't know what  he is planning exactly but it seems that he is trying to rope me into his little game too," he added with distaste.

"But I thought the whole point of his deceit was to keep this from the other Seekers," the Femme blinked.

"If I may," the baritone voice of the Autobot Leader interjected, gaining both of their attention, "You will have already suspected this yourself, Starscream, but it seems to me that Megatron is hastily trying to regain some level of control," he surmised.

"From the innate bond that Seekers possess, you being on the Autobot side, Shadeweaver, is seen as a threat," Optimus said, "From what I have seen over the vorns, a Seeker would never seriously harm one of their own, and the fact that you also have a trine reinforces that. I have known Megatron long enough to know his uncanny obsession for control and have reason to believe that your escape hampered his pride, and you should know that this is when Megatron is at his most dangerous," he continued.
