[Book 5] Sofia The First: Dad's the Word

Princess Leona was running away but Garrick manage to catch up to her...

"Leona!" Garrick called out to her as he catch up to her, "what's wrong?, why'd you run off like that?" Garrick asked as he went up to her

Leona just let out a sigh, "I shouldn't have gone on this trip" she said sadly

Garrick was confused, "what do you mean?" he asked

Leona just looked at her father, "because the other dads and daughters know each other so well, and we haven't done anything right together, all day ever since you got me" she replied as she looked down with sadness in her eyes.

Garrick felt bad for Leona, "well that's because you haven't done anything with me before" he told her

"no....it's because I'm just your adopted daughter, I'll never be your real daughter" Leona told him as she looked down

"Leona, that's just not true..." Garrick said but then some shouting and running interrupted their conversation.

They looked around and saw Miss Elodie and the others running as fast as they can with some pelicants chasing after them

"we can take refuge in that tree!" Roland said as they all headed for the tree and went in.

After that Amber looked at Hildegard, "Hildegard, give them back the pelicant egg, NOW!" She called out

"okay okay" Hildegard said handing them the egg while running but she ended up tripping over the roots of the tree which caused her to dropped the egg and the egg rolled into the gully

From afar, Leona and Garrick saw what happened and they are both shocked about what they just saw.

Hildegard was trying to reach the egg but a pelicant dashed at her which caused her to rush inside the tree.

"Hildy darling what did you do to the egg?" Henrik asked his daughter

"I tried to give them back the egg but it fell in the gully" she answered

everyone was shocked amd horrified to what she said

"The egg's in the gully!" Hildegard shouted at the pelicants

"they can't understand you!" Lakshmi said glaring at her

Roland looked at Sofia, "Sofia, can you talk to them with your amulet?"

"I'll try" Sofia said as she look out trying to talk to them but a pelicant dashed towards her making her run back inside, "I can't, they're too angry" she told them.

"wow, and now we're trap, And all because you had to have that egg Hildegard!" Kari scolded her angrily

"I'm sorry, I didn't know this would happen, and besides how could we know?" she said defending herself

"because I told you that it will happen" Amber scolded while everyone glared at Hildegard who was smiling nervously

From afar, Garrick and Leona were hiding behind a tree

"the pelicants didn't know the egg rolled in the gully, it's up to us to get the egg back" Leona said as she tried to head there only to get stopped by Garrick

"Honey wait, if the pelicants see us, they'll come after us too, we should stay here and think of a plan" he said as he started thinking of a plan

Garrick started to look around and he noticed a ray of sunlight, and that gives him an idea

"the sun! I know how we can get the egg" he said as he took out his watch from his pocket

Leona was confused, "your pocket watch? how will that help?" she asked

"we can bounce sunlight off of it and distract them" Garrick answered as he used his watch to distract the pelicants

"there, now you take the watch and keep distracting them while i go get the egg" Garrick said as he walked off

Leona saw that her father made it to the gully and couldn't resist trying to get their too, Garrick went down the gully while Leona kept distracting the pelicants

but then, one of the pelicants saw here and instantly dashed towards her, the pelicant cried that made Leona surprised which caused her to drop her father's pocketwatch in the gully

"we're trying to get the egg!" Leona shouted at the pelicant trying to help them.

"Leona!" Garrick called her

suddenly, Leona accidentally fell but luckily Garrick caught her and they both slid down the gully

"hold on tight!" Garrick said as he and Leona slid all the way down, then right after, they both made it to the bottom

"you okay sweetie?" Garrick asked

Leona held her head and was still a bit dizzy, "I think so..." she answered

Just then, Leona saw Garrick's pocketwatch lying on the ground

"oh...your watch" she said as she instantly went over to pick it up.

A she picked it up, she saw the pictures of her brothers and noticed that the other side of the watch was hanging, she turned it over and saw a picture of her, that instantly surprised her as she turned to her father

"there's a picture of me in here?" she asked

"of course Leona, why wouldn't there be?" Garrick replied

"because, I'm not you real child, like Axel and Hugo" she said as she sighed and looked down

"Leona, it doesn't matter wether I was your dad when you were born, I'm your dad now, and that makes me your real father, and you my real daughter, I love you Leona, now and forever" Garrick told his daughter

Leona was very touched by his words that made her cry.

"oh dad!" she said as she hugged her father, "I love you too" she said hugging him

"I'm sure papa and mama will be happy that I met you, I wish they were here to meet you" Leona said while hugging her father.

Garrick hugged Leona and smiled at her, "I'm sure I will too" he replied.

Garrick us very lucky to have Leona as his child, same goes with Leona, who was lucky to have a father like Garrick.
