You have been on student exchange for 6 months and have come back today, before you left you had a year long relationship with Alex dumphy and you continued the relationship while you were away it was hard but you both pulled through. you came a day early to surprise her. You get out of your cab and walk to the dumphy house and you knock on the door and Hayley opens it
H- oh my god! You're back early I didn't think you'd listen to me
She hugs you
U- yeh I came home a day early to surprise her and she was really upset on the phone the last time we spoke so I came back
H- well she's really missed you, she's been kinda depressed and our family keep trying to find out why

Hayley drags you outside where you see her family and Alex

U- I applied for it before me and Alex got together and I forgot I even applied and I didn't have a choice but to leave

C- so Hayley why didn't you tell us she had a girlfriend
H- weren't my place to tell you guys
P- but you've never kept this type of secret that involves your sister for this long
H- well this was different circumstances I wasn't going to out my sister
Cam- well it's lovely to see Alex so happy and relaxed around someone I don't think I've ever seen her like it
G- she's in love... what do you expect
M- she's been in love before tho right

H- y/n is different in so many ways, she cares more, like Alex's well-being she takes time into making sure she's not over stressing, she's eating, everything's ok with friends and family her ex's never done that, y/n is just better, she matches her smartness, Alex and her have so many smarty debates, i don't think I've seen one of her ex's have those with her, y/n was there through things I don't even know Alex went through until she asked me on how to help her with it. I think Alex feels safe and genuinely happy with her. She's never been like this with anyone
Lilly- that was a long speech
L- so I can't ask her out

P- why didn't she come out to us she knows Mitch and cam are gay
M- it's not that easy to come out even tho you may have a supportive family and family who are already gay
H- and she wanted to get out of an awkward convocation
J- is this why she has been so depressed for 6 months... cause y/n left

H- she got early admissions into MIT, Harvard, Alex's College which I forgot the name of but said to Alex's college she will start when everyone else starts cause she didn't want to start the next part of their lives without each other
Manny- she turned down Harvard and MIT
H- yeh it is a sweet gesture and she turned down Berkeley
P- seriously
H- yeh she didn't want to leave Alex after ruse promised not to leave again and y/n needs to be close with Alex to help her
C- help her with what
H- her panic attacks and meltdowns and show her there's fun things to do I've never seen Alex be as happy as she is unless she is with y/n

That was the day her family met you and you and Alex stayed together through the whole of college and a year after graduation on Alex's birthday you propose to her.
