Those normal spiders can suck our- oh, is this supposed to be G? I guess I'd better keep it that way.

My name's Kevin. Yeah, we have names. Anyway, my names Kevin, and I'm a little cave spider with a very big job.

Notch, that sounds so cliché, doesn't it? But it's true. My job is to monitor everyone's progress. Then I report it to the enderdragon.

We're under his... influence, you could say. He controls us, like many of the other mobs. Every year, I have to travel to the End and tell the enderdragon how many humans we have managed to kill.

If we meet its expectations, it doesn't hurt us. If we don't, it degrades some of us.

It takes away our privileges of being small, poisonous, and coloured differently. Then we become - oh, the horror - normal spiders.

But here's the worst part. We have to choose ourselves who is going to be degraded. Of course, nobody wants to be degraded, so we use a harsh voting system to decide.

Each of us has a vote. The spider in charge of the voting system makes sure that nobody cheats, and as an added bonus, gets to be excluded from the vote. Everyone else is up for the chance of losing their privileges forever.

I've been lucky so far.

Anyway, my job is to oversee the killing of humans. Other spiders scout for them, hunting them down. When they find one, I send some other spiders to kill them. It is important to kill every human we find; the more will kill, the less likely the enderdragon will degrade us.

However, there is one obstacle in the way: the sun. Although it doesn't hurt us, it makes us weak. It makes it difficult to see, so we prefer to stay in caves. Which is why, of course, we are known as cave spiders.

I hope you understand. We don't want to kill you, but if we don't, then we'll get degraded. And we would hate for that to happen.
