So we're useless, then? Well, those iron golems think strength and power is everything. Sometimes you just need to be a little more graceful. A little more delicate.

It's true that we don't do anything. We can't attack, we don't drop anything, and all we do is fly around all day... and night.

They don't know about our secret, though. There's more to us than just being useless. We can attack other mobs, but not as bats. We can create the illusion that we are other mobs. We call it shifting.

Each of us can only shift into one mob. Myself? My talent lies in shifting into an enderman.

The humans don't know this. Even real endermen can't tell that I'm actually not one of them. That's how skilled we are.

We have to be careful not to get killed while we're shifted. Luckily, I can just teleport away. That's right, I can use their abilities too.

It's the same with the other bats. One of my friends can shift into a ghast. He can shoot fireballs and swim in lava. Yeah, we're all a bit jealous of him. There's one thing that stays the same, though: our health.

I'm much weaker than a normal enderman. Getting hit by a diamond sword hurts. A lot. Fortunately the human that lives in our world is so weak that he can barely lift an stone sword. So for now, we're pretty much safe.

But some day, he'll come at us with full diamond and slaughter us all. We won't drop anything, so he might be a bit confused. We'll have to be careful. If we let him kill too many of us, he might figure out our secret.

Till then, we'll carry on shifting. Remember, if you hit a mob, and it doesn't drop anything, it isn't a glitch. It isn't a bug. It's a bat.
