PrAyEr rEqUeSt

I was sat in church
But paying no attention
I wasn't here for the sermon
I wanted to be able to pray
So I sat, waiting patiently

The preacher man
Gave us what to pray about
But I wasn't here to be told what to do
I was here on my own will
So I closed my eyes and sighed

I remembered when I was here last
Praying for grandma everyday
None of my prayers were answered
Well, apart from one
She did find rest alas

Never been the one to be selfish
I never prayed for myself
So I prayed for you instead
Just like how I've been doing
Since I first met you

I told God to keep you happy
Just like he kept grandma happy
Till the day her soul was lifted
So this is my prayer request
That you also live to the fullest
