"What does he mean by that? We never got to know each other!" I sighed and Tabby slammed the spatula on the counter.
"You've been asking me the same question for the past 2 weeks! You're getting married next week! Go ask your dude." She slapped my arm annoyed. I rubbed my arm and continued working.
I couldn't believe him because he haven't contacted me since the other day, even though I will type out what I want to say.
I delete it after that. I'm awkward. Way too awkward.
I planned on closing the studio for two days, due to the wedding and getting myself 1 week vacation.
I already packed my clothes and sent it to Rishi's place. He insisted on living by ourselves, even though I was totally fine living with his parents.
At least I can easily talk to them because I couldn't get any words out when with him.
Today was henna day, I had my arm and feet fully covered with henna. Everyone was happy, surrounded with music and dance.
I was too awkward to dance around people. My parents were the happiest, seeing their legacy continuing by our marriage.
I was wearing a yellow quarter sleeved crop top and printed yellow skirt, with my hair up.
I was walking around the house with my arms stretched out. Everyone was at the back of the house no one was inside.
I walked into my room to wash these out. I've had this on my hand for the past 8 hours and I'm tired.
"You look beautiful." I froze on the voice and turned around. Rishi was standing with his arms crossed, leaning on the wall.
I quickly closed my room door with my elbow and stared at him with my eyes wide.
"What are you doing here?! You shouldn't be here and you shouldn't see me!" I shrieked frantically and he smiled.
The cold face that I've been seeing over and over, actually smiled at me.
I melted away seeing him smile, with his dimples. It took me a moment to regain myself from his smile.
"I wanted to see you." He mumbled awkwardly, scratching the back of this neck. I narrowed my eyes at him.
Is he getting clingy?
"You can see me tomorrow and you better go before someone sees you." I said frustratingly, before someone walks in.
"Okay, okay. I'll go." He mumbled, turning around.
I turned around and walked to the bathroom, washing my hands.
I was mumbling by myself, because it was hard to wash these out.
"Let me help you." He washed my hand gently, holding my arm like it was fragile.
"You should go. Someone might come in." I mumbled but he was intently washing my hands, rubbing it gently.
For as long as I know, we never talked and or even argue about the anything. Hell, I even wanted to runaway knowing that I'm engaged to him.
He was always cold and silent.
Now he's by my side, washing henna off my arms and we're getting married tomorrow.
"Okay, done." He said looking at me and I was staring at him unknowingly. I quickly looked the other way and wiped my hands mumbling a thank you.
"What about your feet?" He asked pointing my feet and I stepped back.
"Nope. No need. I can do it. You should go." He nodded his head and walked to the window.
"Why are you going to the window?"
"I came through here?" He said more like a question.
"You climbed upstairs? Are you crazy? You could've hurt yourself!" I said slapping his arm and he looked at me amusingly.
I stepped back mumbling a sorry.
"Okay, I'll go through the back door." He said with a small smile, glancing at me.
"Don't get caught." I said looking at him and he nodded.
As soon as he took a step forward, the whole house blacked out.
I shrieked and quickly held his arm. He froze and I held on him tightly.
"Don't go! Pleaseeee!" I whispered closing my eyes. My greatest fear is the dark and snakes. I'll probably have a panic attack if I saw snakes.
"It's okay. I'm here." He whispered, holding me. I tried so hard not to panic.
"Rhea! Are you okay? The power went out! You want someone to be with you?" My mom yelled from downstairs.
"I'm fine!"
"But you always get scared when the power goes out! And you get clingy." She yelled back and I groaned loudly.
"Mom, you're embarrassing me!" I mumbled, stomping my foot. She always find ways to embarrass me.
"How do you sleep at night?" Rishi questioned and I forgot about him. He held my hand and I felt him move, he wrapped his arm around my waist.
I flinched on his touch because the other day was a totally different situation.
"I have a night lamp on." I mumbled, tugging on his shirt. He stayed silent, humming.
"You can laugh at me if you want to. People always laugh at me for sleeping with a night lamp." I said slowly.
My cousins laughed at me the whole night when they found out. I cried horribly.
"I don't mind." He said shrugging because I felt his shoulder moved.
"You don't?"
"No because I already knew it when you were sleeping with your lights on, at the villa." He said holding my head.
I can't believe that he's understanding.
The light came back and we were standing a little too close. I let his hand go and stepped back.
"Can I go now?" He asked teasingly and my cheeks burned in embarrassment. I nodded and he kissed my forehead, walked out the door.
I squealed like a high school and laid on my bed, clutching my chest.
If he keeps doing this, there's no other way than falling for him.
