The presence that radiates a killing thirst

A white-haired Lupo with a scar running down her left eyes. Everyone in the prison seems to be afraid of her. The cells adjacent to hers, apart from him, are all empty

Really, what did miss Lappland do? He is curious

The second day, the human once again reached out to the wolf

"...You barely eat half of them..."

"Not hungry" Were the two words spat at his face, before she rolled ot the side curled up to herself

Prison food is not the most apetizing substance in existence. Still, to leave it without even taking a bite is nothing more than courting your own death

In his eyes, it was as though the Lupo is purposely starving herself

"That's not good. You should take proper care of yourself, miss Lappland" Thinking to himself, he hit his palm "Or is there a condition that disable you from consuming conventional nutrients? Although that may be a rare symptom, I have heard cases of Infected people contract organ failure. You wouldn't happen to suffer from disgestion problem, would you?"

He looked down at his half eaten meal. After a moment of thinking, the human tossed the hard bread to the other side of the cage

"How about you take my fill? The bread on this side is softer so you won't have a hard time chewing on them"

There were no response

But the next morning he woke up, the bread was no longer there. Lappland sent him an indifferent stare from the other side of the cell. This time, there was a flicker of something in her eyes

A smile reached his face

The thrill of having someone to talk to outlive any sense of survival he had

Even when his instinct tell him there is nothing good about that Lupo, he sat next to her cell and initiate on one-sided conversations by himself.

Days and night, the cycle repeat. A normal inmate might have told him to shut up, but never Lappland. Lappland, who always stay silent, sometime felt as though she is listening to him

"Why do you talk so much?"

One day, she asked him that question

"...I can't stand the silence, so I have to fill it with the sound of my voice" He replied

"Besides, sitting in that corner by yourself. Don't you ever feel lonely, Lappland? Of course, if you want to talk, I am willing to listen to any grievances you might have, too"

"...Obnoxious. Your barking is too loud"

"I am not a dog, though...."

"Tell me, pup. What are you trying to achieve by talking to me?"

He look at her with surprise evident on his face. The boy could not see the Lupo's expression, but he smiled at her silent back

"I just want to have a friend here. Is that too hard to understand?"

Lappland grunted, clearly dissatisfied with the answer. She turned sideway and paid no more attention to him for the rest of the day
