The next few weeks absolutely turn back into routine. The same thing every day. I put in my two weeks at work and am forced to work up until the very last day. I mean, I guess I could have just not shown up. But that wasn't in my character. The fact that I called out one day for Clay was out of character for me.

While finishing out my last two weeks at work I packed up all of my things. There wasn't much but enough that it would take some time. I did everything on my own. I always did and this wouldn't change a thing.

I sat in the middle of the hardwood floor in my living room as I waited for Clay to show up at my front door. I wanted to do this alone. Just make multiple trips and be done with it but Clay insisted on helping. He even roped in Nick to help. But that was mainly because 'I wasn't allowed to carry heavy boxes down the stairs of my apartment building', and he didn't want to do it alone.

"Where are you?" I call out into my phone as I listen to Clay and Nick scream sing a song playing over the car stereo. They are embarrassing.

"Shut up!" Nick yells before going back into his karaoke solo. This dude.

After being told to shut my mouth I do. I'm surprised that Clay doesn't yell at Nick for speaking to me like that but it is what it is. They were both too into carpool karaoke to acknowledge me.

The sound of music going silent and Nick's groans of protest alert me that Clay and Nick have arrived. "Unlocking the door." I say quickly before ending the phone call that Clay demanded that I be on for their entire drive.

I get up off my floor and walk over to my door spinning the lock for the final time. I can't believe that my chapter of living alone is coming to an end. At least for now.

Clay wraps me up in a hug before even saying hello. I laugh at the sudden attack of the tall boy. I haven't seen him since I left his house two weeks ago. Neither of us had time for even a FaceTime call in between then and now.

"I missed you." Clay pinches my cheeks as he pulls out of our hug.

"Misses me after just two weeks. How'd he last months Nick?" I look over Clay's shoulder at his best friend who is buried in his phone.

"His hand." Nick looks up as he shoves his phone into his pants pocket.

"Shut up." Clay immediately shoots a glare in Nick's direction and I can't help but laugh.

"Just being honest." Nick shrugs his shoulders. "Let's just do this shit." He lifts a box and heads out the front door with it.

Clay follows behind him but not before stealing a kiss behind his back. Like Nick hadn't witnessed us kiss before. Boys will be boys.

I watch and try to help. Except every time I lift a finger Clay gives me a stern look and yells at me for touching things. They are my things. I can touch them if I want to.

It only takes an hour to load up both our cars. I'm shocked that the two of them don't slow down the entire time they work. With what I've seen of Nick's athletic ability that boy gets breathy after one Just Dance song. He definitely proved that he's hiding things from the world. But aren't we all?

"So I'll see you two back at your place then." I say as I sit down in the driver's seat of my car.

Nick gives a thumbs up but Clay hesitates. He idles between his car and mine. I can't tell what he's debating about but I know it's something. He pushes the debate away not confronting the fight going on in his mind because he gets in his car and rolls down the window to speak to me. "Drive safe. I'm following you."
