Nights Of Wondering

I knew we weren't meant to be

I knew he wasn't the one

So why then when he left me

Did it hurt so much?

I knew he wasn't worth it

He wasn't worth the risk

Of my heart maybe shattering

And dropping into an abyss

But still I may have loved him

Though he wasn't right for me

He could never give the love

That I so desperately need

When will the one appear

Who will deeply satisfy my heart?

I resolve to long nights of wondering

As I stare out of my window into the dark
