Stella sat with pursed lips, letting her finger drag lazy circles through the drink sitting in front of her. She'd been sitting there for 10 minutes watching a man flirt with Scully and– to her distaste– she was flirting back. They had only been exclusive for a few weeks, both of them needing a bit of an adjustment period to the prospect of no longer being single. She understood Dana wasn't doing it to be malicious and also knew there was a chance she was simply being nice, but it didn't stop the disdain from settling within her. After a few more minutes of watching them from the bar, Stella couldn't take it any longer and stood from her stool gracefully. She made her way over to the two of them, stopping a few feet behind Dana to lock eyes with the man. He squirmed in his place as she stared him down, his attention instantly drawn away from the redhead standing in front of him. Mid-sentence Dana realized she was no longer the object of his interest, and turned to see what he was gawking at. Once she turned she instantly knew why he was so starstruck.
"Stella, hi." She smiled, holding her hand out to draw the blonde closer by the hip.
The man watched with wide eyes as Stella joined their small group.
"Sam, this is Stella, my girlfriend. Stella, this is Sam. We work together."
Stella held her hand out wordlessly, shaking his with a firm confidence.
"Nice to meet you." She said through gritted teeth, trying with little success to hide her dislike for him.
They stood for a few more minutes, Stella's grip on Dana getting tighter with each passing second. After a few territorial comments from the blonde Sam seemed to get the hint and excused himself, making his way over to talk with a group of people nearby.
"Stella, what was that?" Dana asked, feeling slight annoyance at the way she had run him off.
"You were flirting with him." Stella stated simply, watching Dana's face drop.
She was silent for a moment, a plethora of emotions painting across her face before she finally opened her mouth to speak.
"I was not."
"You were."
"He was nice. I didn't mean anything by it."
"I know you didn't, but you were still flirting."
Dana found herself stumped slightly, having never seen this side of Stella before. She was the last person she would ever expect to act jealous or insecure.
"Are you jealous?" She asked with a small smirk, the idea of it filling her with pride.
"No. I just don't appreciate watching you flirt with someone while I'm sitting right there."
Dana couldn't pass up the opportunity to tease Stella, and looked her up and down for a moment with a smile.
"You have no reason to be jealous, babe. I'm yours."
"Is that so?"
"Yes. But I do think it's sexy that you're suddenly so territorial."
Stella was not nearly as amused as Dana was, but there was still a light in her eyes that let her know she wasn't crossing the line.
"I wasn't jealous."
"I think you were. You want me all to yourself." Dana leaned in so that her lips brushed against the blonde's ear. "But you already have me, I'm all yours."
Stella let out a low growl and pulled Dana's wrist, carefully dragging her towards the bathroom without another word. The redhead smiled to herself, sensing the want radiating off of her partner. The moment they reached the bathroom Stella led her into a stall and instantly had her pushed up against the side of it. Their lips met hungrily, and Dana felt their tongues swirl together in a coordinated rhythm. She moaned against her lips softly, reaching her hands up to entangle her fingers in blonde hair. Stella let her explore for a moment, feeling her fingertips brush along her scalp, before she shook her head until Dana's hands fell back to her sides.
