In my opinion, Lloyd and Akita DO NOT match. I also think Akita is too old for him and that "kiss" was a sign of respect or gratitude, many people do that and they don't mean it romantically.
If I were to make a story with Lloyd and Akita, I think Akita would be near her 40's and Lloyd would be 16.
The thing that most irritates me about this ship is that many people use it as what I call a "Default ship" wherein they don't ship anyone with a character so they just use the default ship for them.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Akita, I think she's nice. It's just the ship I dislike.
