Chapter 37

(RBW University Annual Festival – 1 hour ago)

"Everyone in position?" I spoke over the communicator, awaiting response from the other officers on the other line.

"Yes ma'am. Over." They replied.

I took a deep breath to calm myself as I was feeling rather uneasy, despite the fact that I am confident in combat. Ahn Bo-Hyun is not to be underestimated as he had murdered a few women in pink hair, even Krystal who is one of our best officers were done in.

"Report any suspicious movement. Over." I ended the transmission and surveyed the area for any suspicious activity. Solar eonni should be safe for now after she dyed her hair and currently heavily guarded by JenLisa's security team.

'Now... Show yourself, murderer.' I emerged from the safe haven of shadows, walking out as a bait to lure out the hyena. Walking along the bustling corridor, I looked at my own reflection on the glass window, 'Pink hair. Check. Eonni's clothes. Check. Eonni's perfume. Check.'

"Professor Solar! You made it." A voice called out from behind.

'People identify me as eonni... Check.' I turned and smiled when I saw the owner of the voice, "Oppa!" I called out but soon realised my mistake for contradicting my own identity. I hastily covered my mouth as my brother gave me a light pat on the head.

(From here on, the conversation between them is in a soft whisper tone.)

'Hey, Wheepup. Almost gave yourself away hmm?' He leaned over and whispered.

'Yea... I'm just so happy to see you, oppa. We hardly see each other ever since I am elected as Superintendent.'

'Indeed... But I'm at fault too. I should've visit you more often.'

'Don't say that oppa. I know you are busy. Being the school chief of faculty have a lot of responsibility.'

Oppa's expression suddenly turned solemn with a frown on his face, 'I'm really worried about you sis, will you re-consider this again? I can't face Dad if anything happens to you. I swore on his grave that I will take care of you.'

'Aigoo... Is the cold prince of RBW Jung Woo Sung have sister complex?' I giggled which made him smirk a little, 'Oppa... I'm not a kid anymore. I'll take care of myself. Besides have you forgotten I'm the Ace in the force.'

'Ne, ne. (Yes, yes.) My baby sister has grown up now. But no matter how strong you are, oppa will always be worried about you.'

Our conversation came to a sudden halt when I hear static noise from my earpiece, "Superintendent Jung, we spotted a suspicious figure who has been following you from a distance. That person is wearing all black."

"Male? Female?" I enquired further as I try to scan my surrounding with minimal movement.

"The built is rather small for a guy, but the hair says the otherwise."

"Any other features you can tell me?"

"No ma'am. That is all. Position currently at 5 o'clock, hidden behind the handiwork stand."

"Copy that. Release the Lioness." I ordered, a signal for Hwasa to head out and capture the perpetrator. Static remains, but no answer from her so I tried again, "Lioness, you're up." The silent response got me anxious.

"Professor Solar... Is everything okay?" Oppa looks concerned but I smiled to assure him, "Yea, everything's fine. I've got to go." I fled the area after I hear him say, "be safe."

I hastened my pace, walking briskly along the corridors past the bustling environment to a quieter area, in hopes to get better reception and hearing,

"Lioness... You're up. Over?"

"Lioness... Please respond, over." I waited, as the seconds go by at the sound of my heartbeat. The silence is killing me, "Has anyone seen Hwasa?" I radioed the other officers.

"No ma'am. The Lioness' communication has been cut off and her GPS locator has just been destroyed few seconds ago." My mind went blank and I could only think negatively of this situation. My heart starts to race anxiously as I start to run around to search for her.

'Please be safe... I don't ever want to lose you ever again.' I fought my tears as I start to check every room, every corner, forgetting the fact that I am currently a target, a bait waiting to be caught. "Superintendent... pshhht... Sup- pshhht... tendent..." Realising I have gone too far from the radio reception, causing static interference noises. I turned around and realised I'm on now on top floor, where no students in sight and the corridor lights starts to go off.

I ran through the dark and empty corridor to reach the staircase in hope to get better reception, it was hard to navigate around but with the aid of the full moon tonight, I'm good. As I ran, the thought of the suspicious person reported by an officer earlier concern me too, so I tried to reach JenLisa's security team, "Officer Jenny, officer Lisa. Report your situation."

"Sup- pshhht... tendent..." The same crackling static continues and as I approach the staircase, fortunately the reception gets clearer, "Superin- pshhht... tendent... the sus- pshhht... picious person is b- pshhht..."

Upon arriving at the staircase, I stopped to catch a breath while listening to a fully restored reception, "Hahh... Hahh... Officers... report..."

"Superintendent Jung! The suspicious followed you as soon as you took off, they are now on the same floor as you- BEHIND YOU!" Before I could turn to look, I have a cloth over my mouth and the scent of chloroform seeps into my airway. Since I had a run earlier, I was gasping for air and naturally inhaled them quicker and soon lost control of my consciousness, eventually seeing my surrounding in a blurred vision and passed out. The last thing I heard before I completely blacked out leaves me in anguish and despair.

"I'm sorry Wheepup... I've been searching for you since your sudden disappearance. I swear I won't let anything happen to you, not even Bo-Hyun oppa. Sleep well, I'll take care of everything."
