"And then I said, 'Too bad Walter, you've got dog hair on you.' And I swear that man's face was priceless!" Everyone in the bus roars with laughter when my mom concludes her story.
After a few moments, the laughter dies down and I glance around the room. Austin is wiping tears from his eyes, Vic is trying to catch his breath, and Andy is laying on the floor, still laughing.
"You're a hilarious woman." Mike compliments and my mom blushes. "I try." She shrugs nonchalantly, making me laugh.
"You're almost funnier than Jaime!" Tony shouts and Jaime throws a glare in his direction.
"I am sorry Ms. Cutler, but nobody is funnier than me." Jaime defends his title as the funniest man on the tour and I roll my eyes dramatically.
"Ann," Mom corrects him politely. "But it's quite alright Mr. Preciado. You are a very entertaining young man."
Andy stands up quickly and stretches, his back making three rather loud popping noises. "We go on in 30, Mermaid Girl. We should probably go get ready." I nod my head at his statement and pull myself from my seat next to mom on the couch.
I walk to the back bunks and reach into mine, retrieving my camera and my black sunglasses, which I prop on my head and place the camera strap around my neck.
When I return back into the living room my mom stands up quickly.
"Where are you going?" She asks, sounding a little panicked and I realize I'm about to leave her in a room full of people she probably thinks of as weirdo strangers.
"We're just going to go set up Mom. The show starts in about a half an hour, Tony, Vic, Mike, and Jaime will show you to the Monster stage if you want to watch them perform. You can come backstage and hang out with me too, if you want." I offer and she nods her head yes quickly, her brown curly hair bobbing up and down.
I hug her tightly before Andy and I step out of the PTV bus and into the chilly Washington air.
"Fuck, it's cold out here." I rub my hands up and down my bare arms quickly, willing the goosebumps to go away.
"I thought you lived here," Andy points out. "Shouldn't you be used to it?"
"Yea technically I guess. But like two weeks ago we're in Austin Texas and it was so hot you threw me into a swimming pool very early in the morning. i'm kind of used to heat after that incident." I respond, glaring at him.
The reminder of his rude actions against me cause Andy to burst out in laughter. "I almost forgot about that!" He yells and I roll my eyes.
"Yes ha ha! It's very funny." I say and he finally stops laughing. I'm still rubbing my arms as we walk and he quickly removes his leather jacket, draping it around my shoulders.
"Andy," I warn quietly, even though his jacket is super warm and smells incredibly fucking good. "What?" He asks innocently, raising his hands in defense of himself.
"It's just a friendly gesture!" He says and I continue to stare at him. "Not everything I do is me trying to win you over." He sighs and I shrug.
"Alright. I'll accept your friendly gesture then." I say simply and he grins.
"Have you decided if you're leaving yet?" Andy kicks a small pebble and it lands a few feet in front of us, he keeps his eyes locked on it, kicking it once again when we reach it.
I shake my head as a voice sounds behind us. "Leaving what?" Ronnie asks and slings an arm over my shoulder.
Andy shoots me a worried look and I glance at him. "I-I'll see you on stage Andy."
