broken promise

chapter two

then the lecture finally starts after around 10 minutes of waiting, not one minute went by where I did not want to switch seats, that was all I could think about, and whenever the teacher would call my name, I would just go blank

it sucks having a person you're trying to avoid in one of your classes, because what if we hit each other with our backpacks, or what if the teacher pairs us up for an assignment, there's so many things that could occur

as the bell rings I quickly gather my things and run to lunch, not wanting to bump into Louis at any time

going into line I immediately notice gaten infront of me, so I push through the crowds of people infront of me to get to him, most of them just pushing me back, but I eventually get there and let out a deep sigh

"having a rough day?" gaten asks as I look up at him and nod "yeah I figured" he says and I just look at him confused "what do you mean you figured?"

"well sadie told me that Louis sits behind you for world history"

"yeah he does, it really sucks"

"could imagine that" he says handing me a plate as we get our pizzas and head to the table Millie, Sadie, and Caleb are at

"Okay, so I just found out, barely, that Noah likes someone, in our friend group, and I've tried asking him but he wouldn't tell me" Sadie says as I furrow my eyebrows at her and tilt my head noticing Noah running over and pulling her aside

"Well, that was strange" Caleb says taking a bite out of his pizza and setting it down "who do you guys think he likes?"

Then everyone except Caleb turn to face me, and I just look at them confused proceeding to laugh at the realization that they think Noah likes me

Shaking my head I take a bite out of my pizza and respond "he wouldn't like me, I'm his bestfriend and trust me, falling for one of your bestest friends, hurts like hell when it turns out they don't like you back, making the whole thing awkward so go on, continue eating"

"What do you mean y/n, in biology whenever you start cracking jokes or laugh he just looks at you, smiles and stares at the floor" Gaten says as I shake my head and get up throwing my food in the trash, taking a stroll around the school

I don't understand how they think Noah likes me, I mean who knows if I'll catch feelings for him, but I probably won't because the last time I did, that person replaced me, and that wasn't a good feeling
