The next morning, Virat was already regretting his decision of teaching Dev how to hold Vamika.

"Devil, come on." He said for the umpteenth time that morning and Anushka bit down on her lower lip to stifle a laugh when Dev turned to look at Virat with his eyes widened and lower lip jutted out.

"No, no, no." Virat started shaking his head immediately, knowing very well what he was trying to do. Anushka couldn't control her laughter when she saw Dev intensifying his expression and looking at Vami as if asking her to convince Virat.

Virat turned to Anushka, hoping that at least she would support him but she too mimicked Dev's exaggerated pout and fluttered her lashes at him.

"You guys are unbelievable." Virat groaned at the two of them and shook his head, looking at his phone just to realize he was going to be late for practice.

"Only today Dev. Because it's your first day with Vami, and Nush is supporting you, I can't say anything." Virat grumbled, carrying his kit bag and glaring at the devar-bhabhi duo, who was smiling at each other. "But after lunch, you're going to practice with the coaches and, I'll be there to supervise the entire thing."

Dev nodded his head diligently, happy to accept anything if it meant spending time with his niece. Virat shook his head at the three of them and left for practice, knowing that as childish and innocent Dev was, he would make sure they were safe.

"Dev is not coming today?" Siraj asked when he saw Virat walking into the ground for fielding practice alone. He didn't see the rest of the team listening into their conversation and shook his head.

"He's in my room. Devar bhabhi ne milke jeena haram kardiya mera." Virat complained in an annoyed manner and Siraj, who knew what he meant, laughed at his words, unlike the other boys who felt extremely uneasy at the revelation.

But soon, the coaches called for them, and they forgot about it during practice. A few hours later, when they were going for lunch, they saw Dev ran past them towards the ground with his kitbag in a hurry.

Rohit couldn't scold him because he had informed their coach through Virat, but he wanted to see how Virat would react to his entry. Not only him, but the entire team looked back curiously to see his reaction, for they knew how much Virat hated tardiness.

And he did look angry, his arms crossed as he glared at Dev. The juniors were quite happy seeing that, being fed up with the attention Virat was showering him. But their sadistic happiness couldn't last longer than two seconds.

They saw him handing Virat a metal flask, saying something that they couldn't quite hear from there. But as Virat took the flask from him, the glare was already gone, and he ruffled Dev's hair before motioning him to start his drills.

Extremely frustrated with the happenings around them, the team decided to have lunch in Rohit's room while calling Mahi bhai. As usual, he didn't pick up until the last call.

"What happened?" He asked when he saw all of them sitting together with the same downcast expression on each of their faces.

"Virat bhaiya has changed a lot." Kuldeep was the one to whine to him first, stating the obvious and everyone nodded after him, eager to tell Mahi bhai about it.

But Mahi already knew that.

When he had seen the solemn expression on Virat's face after reaching his half-century, he knew this was not his cheeku. Even when he reached his century, it was only Dev who was jumping excitedly, not Virat.

"What did he do?" Mahi asked curiously, wanting to know what was happening over there. "That's the problem bhai, he isn't doing anything," Hardik shouted, making Bhuvi jump beside him.
