I still can't watch that finals without tearing up because 2016 left a scar on our hearts

people can't understand how much 2016 still hurts unless they had been sitting there that day, praying for some miracle to save us- they can't understand how it felt

having all the legends play together and still not manage to get the cup home that day. seeing sachin stand at the crease knowing that he wouldn't be able to take his team through, seeing virat mentally prepare himself during the last over

but this is so much worse

because this was not just about 2021, or about 2016- this was about all those years where he captained the red and gold

it's easy to hate on dan christian right now, even more convenient to troll dev for "statpadding" and dropping those catches but I don't think they could have made a difference

virat scored 39 runs in his first match as the RCB captain and he scored 39 runs in his last match as the RCB captain, being the highest scorer for his side in both of them

it was all written, I guess.

and I just want to say that it's really easy for the winning side to return the next year, they don't have that guilt, the baggage which comes along the losses. they don't have the responsibility of motivating a team filled with broken dreams and unshed tears.

what takes courage is to lead a side for this many years, show up year after year, loss after loss, stand with your head held high and teach your team to do the same. what takes courage is to wake up each day after having failed the day before. what takes courage is to add that fire for victory to a losing side.

the RCB captain deserved a better ending than this to his tenure, he deserved better than losing his last match like this.

he deserved a better farewell than this.

and people who are saying that this will get better, thank you but it won't, it never will.

winning the world cup and winning the IPL are two different things, world cup is an unfair pedestal people put him on.

an IPL trophy is something that he should have won under his captaincy while the only world cup winning captains are kapil dev and dhoni

and this year, with this team and these conditions I won't even be surprised by anything.

because if I'm being honest, he deserves a better country too

also please make rohit the captain for this world cup, I'd like to see how he wins this cup

with a team where your all-rounder doesn't bowl properly, your main spinner is missing, the spinner you have isn't in his best form, the other spinner has week knees apparently and your most experienced opener is absent?

yuzvendra chahal has been replaced with someone like rahul chahar- who is from MI by the way and they still say rcb quota?

thankyou mumbai you've been kind to us 🙏🏽
