We were

Just friends

That spoke like lovers

And that seemed to be enough for

Two teenagers who were scared to love one another.

It's hard to wait around for something you know might never happen; but its harder to give up when you know it's everything you ever fucking wanted.

The feeling of warmth, returned love and support.

Hell yeah I want it.

And the worst feeling ever is not knowing whether you should wait or give up.

Because you never know what can happen within two months or longer, even a week.

I break my own heart by expecting people to be as attached to me as I am to them. But that's the way I am.

I find it so scary that I don't know how he feels, how I feel. And why what happened earlier today happened.

I don't want to become addicted to his touch, his warmth, his lips. But how can I not?

Tonight's rough, I lay here in darkness, overwhelmed by things I wish I didn't wanna think about. My thoughts drowning me every second they get.

I sigh. Because it's all I can do right now, I'm exhausted and sick.

So that was our first kiss, I really don't want it to be.

Because what if it meant nothing to him? What if that kiss builds up a wall on the new friendship we were building.

And within seconds I fall asleep, with him on my mind.

"Baby" They drag the 'y.' "It's Athena, your favorite."

I grunt, "I feel like shit, mentally and physically."

"Oh she's rough." Azariah adds.

"Thanks bitch."

"Athena you're on your own" He screams running away, "I love you Lina, but you seem scary right now. You just called me a bitch!"

She gives him a the classic Athena death stare, "I'm sorry about him, but you wanna tell me what happened yesterday? While I help you clean up." She motions to my face. "That."

"Sure."

"No fucking way?" She says doing my makeup. "Your being for real?"

"Yes Rose, I am." I say, "And it fucking scares me."

"I know it does, and I'm here for you. You know that right?"

"I do, but you know what I've been through."

"And I've been with you every second of the way, I'm never leaving." She says. "Even if you wanted me to." She adds the last part.

I sigh, "I know."

"K, we're going out. Because you need to get out of the house, and we can talk more." She adds, "Alright?"

"Where are we going?"
