(28) The Meeting

(A/N: Minor fix on the planned date for the strike)

As they returned to their hotel from the tour, they are greeted by principal Relie and a toyal emissary at the lobby. "Ah, Lux Arcadia-san and Airi Arcadia-san, your presence has been requested at the royal castle. An urgent issue has appeared and we must depart right away— or so I previously thought..." He paused and gave a stare at the souvenirs the group brought.

The stacks of small yet numbering souvenirs suprised the messenger a little, but he soon regain his composure: "— given the... circumstances we are having, I can only spare a few minutes, and I hope that could suffice." "We appreciate the given generosity..." The siblings put down the souvenirs. Airi walked back to her room, while Lux just sat down on the sofa in the lobby.

They soon departed to the royal palace after the given "few minutes" of rest. The night has already began for an hour or two yet there are still handful of people remain on the street: Workers who have to pick up their pace for tomorrow's needs, and shopkeeps and stall host who was just began packing up before heading back to their resident.

'Five years....' "Huh? Wha-? What five years?" Lux's body stiffened for a moment. 'Daisy...?' "Yeah, just began to patch things up, and so I can talk now." 'Right. We are now at the Royal Castle-" "My, you already on you way to meet Lisha's guardian beforehand?" 'No! Five days has passed, and we are now at the royal capital, ready for the All-Dragon batle and the Founding Festival. The official sent messengers for us. They seem important."

"Here we are." The escorting guards and messenger gently knocked at the door. "They are here, as you reqested." "Good, bring them in." A distant female voice responed.

The siblings enter the door, with Airi walked behind hier brother, and was greeted by a handful of officials, scattered around the two rows of seats at the back of the room. They are covered by blue-ish hoods, so their face is bareky visible.

The queen, Raffi Astimata, who is also Lisha's aunt, sit at the main chair, while the head of the Four Great Nobles sit at the front row, near her majesty.

One of the officials greeted the Arcadia siblings on behalf of his colleagues: "It must have been a long and tire trip to here, Lux and Airi Arcadia, former royalties of the Old Arcadia Empire."

"It is my pleasure to meet you again as well." He return the salutation to the official. "However, I am concerned for the reason for the summon, especially at a time like this..."

"As in the eve of All-Dragon Battle, or simply the battle and the festival?" A red haired male with a loud, half-joking voice. Lux recognized him as Bugriser Gashtoph, one of the Four Great Nobles of the New Kingdom.

 But he was interrupted by Prime Minsiter Nulph: "*Cough* Regardless, the sooner we can begin the meeting, the better— Indeed, it might seems out of place to summon the two of you at this time, but the issue at hand can only spare us so little time to formulate our counter... "Imperial Capital Reconquest", a conspiracy plotted by the Heiburg Republic."

Lux remain his stern face, as he has heard from Yoruka, and was expected, but her sister's emotion shifted. 

The prime minister scanned over the document on his table and continue: "Intelligence report that the military branch of the Republic will mask their involvment with helps from the remants of the Old Empire — The rebels, in another way to speak. A number of the remnants sought asylum from the Republic since the coup d'etat. Accepted, the two faction teamed up, and planned to strike when we less expected — soon after the All-Dragon Battle."

The old man inhale deeply, and look at Lux with a complexed expression. "Intel suggest that, the 'leader' of the operation is Ragreed Forus." Lux narrowed his eye. The mentioned individual was a companion with the young Arcadia royalties when their were childrens. He was nowhere to be found since the coup.

"You have achieved amusing feats time and time again, Lux Arcadia." A man with short blonde hair in the front row spoke up: Dist Ralgris, father of Celistia. "Ever since your enrollment in the Academy, you involved yourself in many operations, and somehow saved many lifes, be it directly or indirectly."

"Is it really that hard to inform of his skirmish against hundred of Abyss nearly alone?" Bugriser throw his left arm up in annoyance. "Wha-" Lux was taken out of suprise and shock.

"No way!" Airi poped up from behind him. "Onii-san has just recovered from the incident in Ries-" "NO! Nonono!" Another feminine voice interrupted her , "We shall take this chance as a test flight!"

"Who was that?!" As the officials panickly looked around, Lux slight pinched his bridge in frustration. "Everyone, allow me to introduce... Daisy, a entity reside in my suit with... interesting characteristic."

Murmurs begin to rose within the court as Nylph coughed, attempted to silence the crowd. "Quiet down everyone!" Bugriser yelled as Dist hit the table with his fist.

"A test flight...?" "Alright, let me ask you a question first: How much do you know about a being known as the Doom Slayer?" Few seconds of slience until Dist clear his throat.

"Well, from the ancient document we recovered so far, Doom Slayer is a god-like being who slaughter thousands abyss without the basic needs. As if he merely feed on the blood on the monsters. From sculptures we found out the armor of the Doom Slayer is similar to the suit that is under the possession of Lux Arcadia. Base on such findings we believe the creation of the suit may under the influence of the Doom Slayer himself."

Bugriser laughed. "In short, we would spare you some helping hands in the beginning, but the idea was scratched if such powerful being reside with you... We entrust the matter to you, fully. You will execute the plan soon after the All-Dragon Battle is over. Good luck."

"However..." Another Four Great Nobles, Zagha Schultzed, lean forward from his seat. "There is another thing we seek from you..."

Lux inhale, and nodded to the old man, who held out four fingers. "We simply ask for four victories during the All-Dragon Battle. What happened on Rise island is an unauthorized operation, the principal act on her own will, and we have to face questions from other nations. A hefty consequence, we have to paid..."

"Fret not, young ones, we are not attempting to put all the burden on you. Coordinates with the participants of the New Kingdom, and give us victories."

"... I understand. I will take part in the Abyss elimination task alone, and ensure at least four victories for the New Kingdom."

"*Coughs* I am sure that the aim of the meeting has been achieved, and I, as the prime minister of the New Astimata Kingdom, shall conclude the meeting. Are there any objection?" Silence. "Good." The old man stood up, and facing towards the siblings, "Then we shall await your good news."
