Beca's POV
I am at the lab. I've got my shift at McDonald's after school today, and then a shift at the lab. I help Mr. Logic with projects, and get paid a bit. It's not much, but it helps. I also need to go to the radio station tonight. Luke is a son of my uncle's best friend so he lets me work here. After uncle Ryan, Jesse's dad, died a week ago, we need to work hard to have enough money to pay the bills, rent and food. My parents died 15 years ago, and from that time, I lived with Ryan and Jesse. His mom died a week after he was born, so it's just us. But now, we can't do this any longer. I gotta go to the registry office after my shift at Mc. I gotta ask Mr. Logic to let me out sooner. I-
"Miss Mitchell?" A manly voice called snapping me out of my thoughts
"Yes sir?"
"I appreciate that you like the classroom, but the class was dismissed 2 minutes ago" he chuckled
"Oh, I'm sorry professor, I just-"
"Spaced out" he said
"Yeah" I nodded
"It's okay Beca, I get what you're going through. No need to come today, and good luck in the registry office" he smiles
"I- How did you-"
"Have my ways" he winked "Say hi to Josh and Luke by the way"
"Umm...Will do sir...? Goodbye"
"Bye"
That was weird...
