This is a story I've been wanting to write for a while now.
And, please allow me to vent for a moment. I have yet to discover an MC that's a badass. And there's no in-between, I haven't discovered any Male Reader stories where the MC isn't a complete bitch, the MC is either an edgelord or a pushover, neither of which I am.
I'm not trying to hate on here, but in most Male Reader stories I've read so far, the MC is just a "weak" individual.
You might dismiss it as fiction, but the fact that it's Male Reader and utilizes Y/N suggests that you're filling the position of the MC.
But it feels like it's just their own character, since, in real life, I'm an athletic otaku nerd who's been training MMA for about 2 years now (It's been slightly halted thanks to Pandemic), or about the time I made my Wattpad account. So I made it a pawn myself and decided to write a shitty self-insert character.
Sure, my story It's just gonna be the Author's own Character rather than you, but isn't that just every Wattpad Male Reader X Whatever story.
I know I'm generalizing, but I have yet to find an MC that I like, and even if I did, the bulk of them aren't to my taste.
