On Scrolling

The internet says
an average person
(who are they, anyway?)
scrolls 300 feet a day.
That is equivalent to
the height of Statue of Liberty,
I may as well climb it
instead of scrolling
and still getting nowhere
I have been sitting on my bed
and the chair and the floor all day.

300 feet is 25 floors of a building
I could've scaled Big Ben instead.
The Big Ben has no elevator,
I'd have to climb 334 steps to reach the top.
300 feet is almost the touchline distance of a football pitch.
It is as tall as the Giant Sequoia.

300 feet is a productive distance-
So much can be done
I can paint my way all the way up
through the sandy Pyramids of Giza
and cry when the paint blows off
only to have ice cream later.

300 feet is an interesting distance
to walk everyday
and keep fit,
instead I chose 300 feet to scroll mindlessly
through Pinterest,
Physics that will get me a college,
but may never get used irl.
Stupid school chats,
with people crying and laughing on the authorities,
YouTube comments buzzing.

I scrolled 300 feet
and saw the world,
sleeping, standing, eating
and eventually getting fat.
