Phoenix

Blazing golden, red-

as if on fire,

consumed by flames

Its fierce eyes glint.

Majestic, all powerful

The phoenix from heavens,

soaring the the night sky

as the world succumbs to death,

humanity sickening.

A haunting melody

piercing the heart-

evoking courage, fear.

Its eyes welled up

Does it cry from pity

or concern?

As the tears fall on earth,

stained with human filth

Can they heal the mortals

dying of disease,

suffering from greed, hate

and reverse the wrongs?

The phoenix

Its tail a flame

Is it the sign

of the end of time

or a new beginning?

As hope struggles to survive

against the evils that plague

and the misery that drowns

Will we live to see the dawn?

Just as the phoenix will be born again

Surely hope will live on forever

from ashes

from naught.
