The Screams

The Screams

There were these unusual screams

That emerged at brink of night

Even when I was stitching seams

With all their painful might

I tried to ignore them

As their shouting increased

Until the police came

To investigate the deceased

Turns out our neighbour

Was hiding bodies of two

The wife died of hard labour

Clutching the daughter's shoe

Their bodies found in the drainage

When suspicion rose they were missing

Their unsuccessful marriage

Just kept reminiscing

The daughter was gotten rid of

While the wife did all the work

She got scolded for a single cough

He couldn't handle her single quirk

When the police got him

He had a sadistic smile

He said "It's not my fault, they couldn't swim"

As they escorted his shameless guile

The screams did not stop though

Until they brought the Pastor

The bodies were removed finger by toe

And dipped in holy castor

I couldn't sleep tight

Shivering all night

Knowing that they lamented

Nothing else all night I dreamt

That was a very good poem wasn't it?
Hope you enjoyed :))
