Falke Journal entry 171

We slept in one of the residential buildings for the night. We didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the old dorms, which were spared a good chunk of destruction, but it didn't matter. Even as I slept, it felt like a million eyes were on me the whole night. It was like the spirits of those lost were watching me. It felt horrible, like a weight that I can't even lift off. I could hear the sniffles from Pyrrha through the night. I held her tightly all night, hoping that maybe with me being there, she could get some sleep, I know I didn't.

End of entry

The two continued to walk through the destroyed city, Pyrrha holding onto Falke's hand as he led them through. She, unfortunately, hadn't gotten a lot of sleep last night. Neither did Falke, but he knew they need to stay alert to make it through the city. The Grimm had returned to the city, not the full horde but more like small packs of Beowolves and Ursa, an occasional Deathstinger. They didn't want to risk drawing unwanted attention, so they stuck to the shadows, moving only when the coast was clear. This tactic made it safer for them, but it also lengthened their time there. Managing to finally make it out of the city and into the forest's relative safety, they made camp deep in the forest, far away from Beacon. The two sit around the campfire eating the rations of food they managed to scrounge up from the abandoned restaurants and stores.

Pyrrha: *Whispering* "F-falke?" Her breathe hitched from tears welling up.

Falke: Scooching over to her, he pulls her close into his arms. "Yeah."

Pyrrha: "Do you ever get scared? S-scared of what happens if we don't win?"

Falke: "Yeah...yeah, I do. But I remember what I'm fighting for..who I'm fighting for." Placing a finger under her chin, he brings it up to look at him as he gives her a single kiss. Breaking it, he continues. "So it's okay to be scared. Fear is what drives us forward..what gives us the courage to keep fighting. So the world doesn't look like what happened here."

As he finishes, he looks down to see that Pyrrha had fallen asleep, smiling and laying her down on the sleeping bag. He lays down with her, wrapping her in his arms and slowly drifting off into sleep.

Falke Journal Entry 202

We decided to head down along the coast of the Sea of Souls; I don't really know what they call it that, besides the dense fog. Anyway, it'll prolong our journey by a couple of weeks since it was either this or trudging through a deep swamp, which makes it a real pain in the ass if we have to fight. Pyrrha's mood has only slightly improved since our pass through Vale and Beacon. Dante has noted that she's started having some troubling thoughts. I'm not gonna lie; my thoughts aren't going that well either. It's like the closer we get to Vacuo, the more they become apparent. It is like a voice, dark and filled with malice, telling me to keep going. To get the Yamato so I could have its power so that I could take my revenge. I don't know what to do. I wish my dad were here, though. He could've brightened the mood.

End of Entry

Falke and Pyrrha walk along a beach. The grey clouds overhead hide the sunlight trying to peek through. The waves crash against the rocky shore as seagulls fly above, looking for anything small to snack on. Pyrrha walks with an emptiness in her eyes, and she still hasn't forgotten what she saw in the rubble of Beacon. Bones of people unfortunate enough to not be able to get to safety or worse of students sho died trying to protect others from harm. Not looking, she bumped into Falke's chest.

Pyrrha: "Oh, I'm sorry." Falke's face was stoic and unyielding as he glared at Pyrrha. "Is something wrong?"

But instead of a verbal response, he instead summoned his 4 swords, shooting them at her. She barely dodged as she held her shield up in defense.

Pyrrha: "Falke! What's gotten into you?!" Still, no response as he pulls Rebellion off his back.

Using it, he performs an overhead slash clashing off Pyrrha's shield as she blocks. Seeing no other option, she summons Heart-piercer in her other hand. The two would go back and forth, Falke relentlessly swinging and slashing at Pyrrha while she played defensively, keeping out of his range and blocking most of his attacks. Finally, Falke uses his summoned swords to beat into Pyrrha's shield repeatedly. She loses her footing and falls to the ground. As she slowly gets up, she fins the edge of Rebellion at her throat.

Falke: "You've been like this for weeks, you haven't talked to Dante or me, you keep to yourself, and as clearly shown, you can barely fight. Pyrrha...Dante's told me what you've been thinking of..what he told me scared me. How could you think such things?"

Pyrrha was at a loss for words. She'd always known Falke for being a laid-back person who rarely ever showed much emotion besides anger and his love for her. But to hear him say this, to know that he was generally afraid and saddened and that it was because of her. It drove her to tears.

Pyrrha: *Tears running down her face*: "I'm just scared. I feel so undeserving and worthless. All those people died, and here I am with a second chance at life. They could've had that life...but why me."

Pyrrha cried into her hands as she sits on the ground, Falke having to wipe tears from his eyes as well as it hurt to see her in such a saddening state. He puts Rebellion back as he walks up and picks up Pyrrha in a bridal position, holding her close as he begins to walk down the beach.

Falke: "Pyrrha..no matter what you may think. You are not worthless. You mean more to me than anyone else in this world, and I'm not gonna sit by and let you talk about yourself like that. I love you, Pyrrha Nikos."

Her crying stopped as he looked down to see she looked up at him with a smile that could shine through a million clouds.

Pyrrha: "I love you, Falke...thank you."
