CASSIEN

THE WEEKENDS were peaceful and I hadn't got any news from the boys, not even a single greeting. My friend requests weren't accepted in Facebook so I couldn't keep in touch. This was like forcing myself as an excess luggage to a flight where I didn't belong. I hope those guys didn't mind my presence.

Pero two days nila akong natiis! Huehue.

I spent my weekends reading A Study In Scarlet. I thought that if one wanted to be a sleuth, one should at least familiarize oneself to the greatest fictional detective ever known. Somehow, perhaps I could learn from Holmes's method regarding the art of deduction.

My two-days leisure wasn't a total leisure at all. As the only daughter of the family, I had a ton of household chores to be accomplished that somewhat stole my time for reading.

Yesterday from Lola Mering's coffee shop event was a little terrifying. It was the tensive exchange of remarks of those two sleuths whom I barely know. Aside from that, a bomb was dropped.

"Tell me honestly, Ranpo. Have you solved the case?"

Is he kidding? Could he possibly solve it in this short span of time? Did he even get all the details, the missing pieces to make an intact image? How?

"No," he responded firmly then let out a sly smile and got to his feet, standing before Newt.

"A dark dragon is on the loose, shuck-face. If you won't release the caved truth right at this moment, the blood of the next victim will be on your hands. Just a friendly reminder because I'm aware that you know that better than anyone."

"What, you think I'm lying?"

I tossed a concernd look to Conan, afraid that his friends might start an unnecessary brawl inside the shop. However, he only shook his head. I didn't know whether it was to ascertain me about the absence of the danger ahead or to stop meddling with this sorta tense exchange of remarks.

"Do you have a reason to?" Hindi naman nagpatinag si Newt. He even sneered.

"If I do have, won't you trust me?"

"So you are lying? Just tell me the truth, shuck-face. I'm getting sick of this."

Wala namang sigurong magagalit kung sisingit ako, 'di ba?

"Pwede ba umupo muna kayo? Nakakangalay tumingala, a. Ang tatangkad niyo, e," reklamo ko kaya napatingin silang tatlo sa 'kin. Now that I had their attention, makikinig naman siguro sila sa 'kin. Or maybe hindi? Sino ba naman ako? Still, it's worth of a shot, don't one think?

Newt blinked a few times before he obediently went back next to my seat whereas Ranpo lingered his freezing stare at me na iniintindi kung may nasabi ba akong ikakagalit niya. I actually complimented them when I said ang tatangkad nila.

"Sige, 'yan. Tama 'yan," singit ni Ranpo at itinuro ako. "Makinig kayo kay Boss Cassien."

Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin dahil do'n. He didn't have to call me Boss dahil pinaupo ko lang naman ang dalawang lalaking 'to.

Don't call me Boss 'cause I'm not~
