One day, while deep in thought, imagining how she'd escape Aurra, Elya was startled by the door opening, revealing her captor with the same sour expression on her face as she always had.
"Kid. You wanna make yourself useful?", Aurra asked her.
Elya nervously nodded.
"Right answer", she tossed her a jacket and hat, "I got you a job cleaning ships on 210th street. Simple enough, even you couldn't screw it up. Follow the tracker and you'll find it. Time to prove yourself not to try anything foolish."
Elya nodded again, obediently. She tried not to make it obvious but trying something foolish is exactly what Elya had in mind.
When it was time for her to leave, Elya put on her jacket and hat and got out the tracker in her pocket. Aurra saw her off and once Elya got to the place, with her hand shaking, she threw the tracker into the snow and ran away. She'd run a couple blocks until she turned a corner, steadied her breath for a few seconds and took a deep breath.

Life is full of choices
No one ever mentions fear
Or how the world can seem so vast

She started walking steadily again but very cautiously.

She looked and saw a little girl laughing and walking with her mother.

She started striding with confidence and excitement.

Who knows where this road may go
Back to who I was
On to find my future
Things my heart still needs to know

At last
Elya stood at the edge of the City of Spires, about to embark on her journey with confidence and excitement in her every step.
