you sing me lullabies at 11:11
with a voice like a billion violins
as numerous at the stars
struck at the same time

your voice is moonstone
neon teal swirled with a white blush
melting into my ears
to bloom universes in my mind

you break and break and break
and your pieces tangle themselves
into treetops of scorn
like bleeding kites

honey as you hold me till
i cry myself to sleep
you write poetry with my poisonous tears
even when my hair cuts your hands
you braid it into constellations

whywhywhywhywhy

why do you do this
when my broken heart
is just cracked dirt
compared to the pile
of broken stars
in your chest?
