My body flung upright as I yelled out, my body drenched in sweat. I yelled out again when I realized I had misjudged where I was and went falling down to the left.
Strong arms wrapped around my shoulders, holding me up as someone chuckled softly. "Whoa there, Iris-chan! All the monsters are gone. No need to come up fighting."
Harry chuckled again as he helped me sit up in the bed I was in, straightening the covers around me before sitting at my feet, his gaze warming my insides and bringing a sense of calm to my beating heart.
"H-Harry...?" My throat felt like paper as I tried to speak. My entire body felt like it had been run over and beaten up with a hammer.
Wh-What's wrong with me...?
"Oi, you alright?" Harry leaned forward, pressing a hand to my forehead. "You look kind of pale..."
My eyebrows pushed together as I gritted my teeth. A memory was trying its best to push past the wall in my mind.
Think Iris... Think...
Why am I here?
Why was I unconscious yet again?
What happened right before---
"Waah!"
I flung the covers away and lept off my bad before Harry could grab me. My feet hit the cold wooden floor and the world started spinning around me, sending my stomach on a wild ride. I teetered to the side, the blanket wrapped tightly in my fist sliding down into the floor with me.
"E-Easy there!"
Harry grabbed me up in his arms. "You keep acting like you're being attacked! Just calm---"
"H-Hayato~!"
I squeezed out that one word, tears filling my eyes. Everything from before waking up came flooding back in a river of emotion. A rare frown appeared on Harry's face as he understood.
Hayato-sama!
I buried my face into Harry's chest. "He... He..."
Harry brushed my hair from my face, heaving a sigh. "Iris-chan... what happened that night... You remember don't you...?"
I nodded, tears staining his purple shirt.
What happened that night...
...I wish...
...I wish it never happened!
But all the tears in the world couldn't change the fact...
...That Hayato-sama...
...Was dead...
