After five long hours of emergency surgery, Arizona was free to close her eyes against a warm and comfortable bed. Yes. She liked the thought of that. But Addison was there. Why was Addison there?

The redhead knocked by the wash area, an act written all over her. Something about her smile nerved Arizona. What did she have to say now, 'Grey' or 'that intern', if she heard that again, she would roll her eyes until they pop out of her skull.

Arizona honestly glares by the door and makes Addison wait a few seconds.

"So, so, so," Addison started, and immediately it sucked Arizona's earwax out of their passage, Arizona definitely didn't miss the noise of the outside world. "I heard from my sources..."

What now? Arizona skimmed her thoughts despite the tire, and her eyelids rose up once it hit a certain thought.

"I shouted at Grey," she murmured loud enough for Addison to catch. Lips curl wider and more mischievous, Addison replies, "Bingo. Right on the money."

Arizona gives into exhaustion for a second as her eyes flutter into a close. Addie kept her silence for the span of it, as if making appease, she cared enough to. But of course Arizona doesn't realize and instead indulges in the silence for moments on end until the irritating thought of Addie waiting for her to be social again bothered her enough to do otherwise.

"Good." Addie says, much quieter now. "So, you had a little hospital quarrel with, Grey—"

"What do you want to hear?" Arizona started walking and Addie's shoes clanked behind her, and then beside her.

"How about starting with... why?"

Arizona retained her eyes at the nearing on-call room door. It took Addie's patient blinks and careful thoughts of her own to make up an answer. "You know how I get with traumas." She was too tired for this.

Arizona could almost fall asleep after futile explanation to Addie about Grey. Almost. If Addie would go and mind her own business for the mean time while she gets some rest.

Addison takes notice of the silence and smiles. Her appetite for story sated. And she knew all too well Arizona needed sleep like the air she breathed, how else can she shine the hospital with a smile? She smiled internally at the thought alone.

Her eyes roamed to Arizona, eyes close, hands on her stomach like a dead corpse. And her lips parted, ajar allowing only subtle breaths through. Lips parted only for subtle breaths. As alluring Arizona was in her wake, it was the same as she rested, just ever so perfect.

God.

Stop.

What am I thinking? No, no, of course she's cute. It's a platonic compliment. Nothing else. Right? For sure.

One last glance and Addison says, "Make sure to apologize again, formally, to Grey. Alright?"

Arizona was probably half awake but too deep into comfort to make up a reply. So, the Addison did not let a second go by with her eyes lingering on Arizona and closed the door behind.

Arizona mentally took a note of that last bit. Formally apologize to Grey, huh.
