Jamie's P.O.V
"You are late, again," I say as Lottie slows to a stop in front of me. It was our second training lesson and Lottie seemed to be making a (bad) habit of turning up late.
"Maybe...you're...just...early," she pants, as she rests her hand on her thighs. She had clearly ran all the way from the Ivy dormitories.
"Well, don't do it again," I say picking up my backpack and walking towards our training space.
----
30 minutes later, I stopped my stopwatch.
"Good, you can probably do it quicker, but that will do for today," I say.
"Thank you?" Lottie says it as if its she's unsure of herself.
I resist the urge to roll my eyes.
As I grab my backpack of the ground, a phone falls out.
"Crap!" I swiftly bend down to pick it up. I think Ellie is rubbing off on me. I don't normally say 'crap.'
Lottie bends down too. I realize what will happen just before it happens.
Our hands touch as we both reach to pick up the phone. A magical feeling washes over me and I can tell that Lottie had felt it too. She quickly pulls away and blushes. I pick up the phone and pocket it.
An awkward silence spreads between us.
"Why do you have a phone?" Lottie blurts this out and she flitches at the bluntness of the question. "At the beginning of the term, you were supposed to hand it in. Wait, but I saw you hand you're phone in..." She realizes that she is rambling and quickly shuts her mouth.
"The king sent the phone to me, in case we needed a secure phoneline to talk on," I say, as I start to walk away.
