"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧?"
"An exhibition?"
"No- the name of it."
"Ah, it's Blossom. Judging by the email that's the theme too, I guess."
"You're gonna make those swans that I so dutifully helped you take a picture of, aren't you?"
"Yes, Satoru. I am."
Gojo fixed his share of pancakes, giving her a happy grin. "I better be credited."
Y/n scoffed, returning her attention to her homemade breakfast.
"They're a little burnt, aren't they," she picked around at the malformed pancakes on her plate, her feet propped up on the moss green couch.
Satoru shrugged as he joined her side, sighing heavily when he leaned back."Nah," he said, squeezing a hearty load of honey onto the top of his stack. He took a small bite, wincing after a few chews.
Y/n poked him with her elbow. He was always so brutally kind to her. "You're lying to me."
"What?" His voice went high pitched. "Definitely not."
Y/n's eyes widened as she gave him a tiny slap on the arm. "You are!"
Gojo went to argue back, when suddenly y/n's phone interrupted their banter. She retrieved it, glancing at the caller's ID. Her face twisted with dread but she stood to accept the call. Ducking her head in an apology to Gojo, y/n left to go into her bedroom for more privacy.
"Yes, Takahashi-san," she answered, crossing her free hand.
"L/n-san," a brass voice addressed her, his tone teetering on the edge of impatience though their conversation had just started. "I assume you know what I am calling about."
Y/n sighed, running a hand through her bun, her fingers getting caught in the several braids. "Listen, I have an art exhibition coming up in two months. If you give me time, I have enough for last and this month's rent for the studio."
The voice scoffed. "Can't wait two months. By that time you'll be behind with four months of rent due."
Y/n swallowed hard. The downside of her premeditating on moving to Japan was impulsively renting out a studio for Oasis so she'd have a secure area to start her work. Turns out it was quite difficult to juggle the rent of an entire building across the ocean and an LA apartment at once.
"I just need a bit more time, please, Takahashi-san. I've only been in Tokyo for a month. It was a mistake for me to rent out the place so early but-"
"It hasn't even been half a year and you're already behind. I can't have someone on my property unable to benefit my assets."
"This exhibition is going to be the one, sir. I... I can feel it. I'll get offers and I'll make up all my missed payments, I swear."
There was a moment of silence. Then, the voice sighed. She could imagine her landlord's disposition; his index finger on his temple, eyes closed, head down. Typical mannerisms that seemed to overtake him when speaking to y/n about money.
"You're lucky I mildly appreciate your work, l/n-san. I'll give you till then. After that..."
Y/n dipped her head. "I know."
