I had been in the biodomes for a little over a week, and had met the others of my kind, which was six in total, including me, with three females and three males. The scientists seemed to had done this with all the species, having an equal amount of females and males, probably so they would get a lot more of us fast without capturing humans. What ever the reason, I was chosen as the leader of the pack, even though I was the third youngest raptor, with two males and one female being eighteen or seventeen. I was the largest and more vibrant colored male, which Francine, the oldest of the females, saying that in reptiles the largest males with the brightest colors were usually chosen as the dominant male, which in a pack, is the alpha. Why she knew this was because she had been in her first year of college before being captured and had been studying to be a zoologist who specialized in reptiles, don't ask me why though.
At the few hours before the event all people now call, "The New Era", my pack went to the pond to drink a bit of water, along with the Spinosaurus group, which was made up of four of their species. It had been very strange that day, because we had not been feed, and to add on to that one of the Spinosaurus (can someone tell me how to spell the plural of Spinosaurus) thought she heard some kind of laser sounds.
It was around the time we had figured out was night, by the lights being off and some of the guards guarding the gate were sleeping, that a loud boom went off.
Almost all of the people in the biodomes awoke from the sound, and those who didn't were woken up by the others. Soon, all of us got enough courage to go to the location of the explosive sound.
A velociraptor ran to the site and just as quickly ran back, saying in gasps of breath, "The others in the rest of the lab have escaped, and the gate is open. We're free!"
Bobby, the former private detective (If he was 18 he probably only had months of experience) the kind of guy who was always asking questions that no one wanted or could answer, said, "But what about the guards, and what about the people who made that explosion?"
Then Joshua, one of the pterodactyls, said, "We are dinosaurs, we can deal with them, and even if we can't, we might never have a chance to escape this stupid place again, to actually have a life outside of this place, even though not like we used to when we were human before we got abducted by these scientists."
And with that, before I realised, all of us were running with all sorts of extinct species, even mammoths and glyptodonts, to the large elevators that most likely lead to a way outside of the lab. As soon as as much people were in the elevator as it could handle, I pressed the button with a star as fast as I could with my claw. But then I wondered, what made that explosion, and what happened to the guards?
In half a minute, we were at what was most likely the top floor. And apparently, the building had been destroyed in the explosion, because only 3 walls remained on this level, with the fourth wall gone and a destroyed military base in the middle of a grassy plain.
Then I realized, we were free!
But who, or what had done this to the lab and the base that laid in front of us? In only a few minutes, I would find out.
Thank you for reading! I know this is a little short, but I didn't want you guys to have to wait extremely long, and this chapter doesn't really have much going on, so I had to make it short, but the next chapter will be much longer. Don't forget to comment and vote!
