HER eyes fell onto the male that suddenly appeared, firstly noticing his vibrantly piercing eyes. y/n stared at him for a while, then it clicked. this man before her was william james moriarty, he has come back from the university he worked in as a mathematics professor and she was the first person he saw in his own home.

the h/c haired girl walked down the stairs, lifting the bottom of her skirt as she did so. she reached the bottom landing and was now facing the professor who had watched her silently in observation. "professor william james moriarty? your brothers were kind enough to take me in when i was sick and thanks to them i got better. louis invited me for breakfast and that is where i am heading,"

william frowned, his silence making y/n uncomfortable as she sought to look anywhere but the man, she knew he wasn't a born aristocrat, but he has learnt very well from albert, his aura radiating intellect and confidence, his blood-like eyes glistening under the chandelier. he was attractive -y/n will give him that- an oval face shape with a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, a straight nose bridge and fox-like cunning red eyes that contrasted his blonde hair.

all three of them had amazing genes even if one of them wasn't even blood related, they all had the same look in their eyes, a cunning foxy-look with a malicious gleam and y/n could imagine this house to be popular among the young ladies and it probably was. they were rich, handsome and at the exterior, nice charming gentlemen of the aristocracy.

"welcome to the moriarty mansion, miss..."

"y/n"

william bowed, "miss y/n. i hope you have enjoyed your stay with my brothers. if you'll excuse me," he walked past her and up the marble stairs, taking a right and disappearing down a hallway. she furrowed her eyebrows and shrugged to herself, shuffling towards the dining room as she spotted a large grand piano.

there she found louis pouring steaming hot tea into two porcelain teacups. he gently set the teapot embellished in gold lining and flowers, down on the table and looked up. "y/n, i see you've made your way here with no problems." he smiled at her and pulled out a chair, gesturing for her to sit.

she smiled and muttered a thanks, sitting on the chair as he pushed it in and gazed around the room. however large, it was a simple amount of decor. a veranda on the opposite end of the room, vases filled with flourishing flowers and two paintings hung in frames as well as the mentioned grand piano and grandfather clock situated above the threshold. the running theme within the house must be blue as the wallpaper and chairs were also the same colour as her room.

"i noticed that albert isn't here, is he...working?" y/n questioned, sipping on the hot tea slowly and wincing at the burn. louis noticed and poured some milk into her cup as he spoke.

"brother albert is a very busy man. his position as a member of the british government is very draining and requires many papers to be signed. i have brought his breakfast upstairs and i hope he eats it," louis cut up his egg with his knife and fork, chewing on it thoughtfully.

"however," he continued, "he is a good man with good intentions. for example, he aided you when you were your utmost weakest and vulnerable,"

y/n nodded, "yes, i am extremely grateful for his help. i wouldn't be in such a healthy state if it weren't for him and, and you as well louis. you kept me company and picked my dress -that i love- and also gave me books to read to ensure i would be entertained."

the male shook his head, "it's ok y/n it is the least i can do, honestly. and you are not bad company either."

"louis, brother, i've come back from durham," y/n turned her head to face the owner of the voice. she had a hunch on who it was and saw william moriarty standing below the grandfather clock at the threshold with his hands behind his back and a sincere smile etched on his face.
