Chapter 10 :The Shock

Third POV

School had just ended and Adrien was rushing to get home .Nino wanted to talk with Adrien about why he didn't come talk to him before class but Marinette knowing that Adrien had to get home as soon as possible ,tried to convince Nino that it was because Adrien was late .Adrien felt alot better and didn't want to burden Nino or anyone else with his problems .

Adrien was forever grateful that Marinette was helping him get out of school as fast as possible .He would have to thank her later .

It was weekend so Alya wanted to say goodbye to Marinette .She walked over to Marinette and said ,"Alright girl ,there's no way I'm staying away from you for a whole weekend .We've gotta schedule a date for us to talk about what happened between you and Adrien !! Did you tell him how you feel ? Are you guys together now ?! "

Marinette sighed .She didn't completely forget what had happened that morning ,and she didn't want to forget .It was just declared that they were secret buddies and nothing more .She had Chat now ,and she didn't want to ruin that .But something felt awfully familiar to her ,being with Adrien .It was almost the same kind of feeling when Chat told Ladybug how he felt about her .

"Sorry Alya we can't hang out this weekend .I'm having a ... family thing .I'll text you okay ?" Marinette said in a dull tone of voice .She did not want to get into details .

"Oh come on ! Alright ,atleast tell me you confessed your feelings to Adrien ! "Alya asked with the biggest smile .

"Sorry Alya ,I didn't ,maybe next time ," Marinette replied patting Alya's shoulder .

Alya groaned ,obviously disappointed ."Dang it girl .That was probably the best shot you'll get but don't give up .I believe you can do it ! Hopefully before the end of this semester ," Alya encouraged and hugged Marinette .

"Yeah thanks ," Marinette said .She was very upset on how she couldn't tell her that she was in love with Chat Noir ."I better get going ,see ya Alya ." Marinette gave Alya a quick hug before heading home .

The Next Morning

Adrien's POV

I was sitting by the breakfast table and had just finished eating .My father had summoned me to sit with him for breakfast but he never showed .I couldn't even talk to Plagg because my body guard was watching me .Why did he call me down here when he wouldn't even come ?

I sighed and pushed my plate forward to show that I was done .I was about to leave when I heard my father's office door creak open .He started walking down the stairs with Natalie behind him .It gave me chills .

Father sat across the table from me and still didn't say a word .Natalie stood next to him with a tablet in her hands .How creepy .

"G-good Morning ,Father .You didn't sit with me like you said you wou-" I was stopped when he lifted his right hand to silence me .I hate it when he does that .

"I have seen that you were able to go to school and finish your Chinese lesson .Very good son .Just proving that you were overreacting about me giving you too much work ," he said .

I remained silent and looked down at my plate ,trying to contain my anger .

"And for that ," My father continued ,"I have decided that since it is weekend and you have worked hard ,you are allowed to go anywhere you please ,with your bodyguard of course ."

I looked up to my father with the most confused expression .My father was giving me... freedom ?! Well that's new ,and obviously I'm gonna take him up on his offer .

"Wow ! T-thank you Father ," I exclaimed ,and I actually meant it .

"Yes of course ,just tell your bodyguard where to go and he'll take you there ,"my father said and he got up from his chair and walked back into his office .

Natalie started walking towards me and said ,"Your welcome Adrien ."

I was shocked .Well actually not really .Of course it was Natalie who asked father to let me go .But nonetheless I was still happy that I got to go out .

"Thank you Natalie ,really it means a lot to me ," I said before leaving to go into the car .

I sat down in the seat next to Gorilla and said ,"To the Dupain-Cheng bakery please .I'd like to visit a friend ."

He started driving immediately straight to Marinette's house .I wanted to let her know that my father was less harsh today and I still need to thank her for getting me out of school the other day .

Marinette's POV

I so desperately want to see Chat .He didn't show up yesterday and I'm worried .What if something bad happened to him .Did I say something mean to him .Ugh !I'm acting crazy .We both have our own lives and these are the risks we took when starting this relationship .I need someone to calm me down about all this .I have the whole weekend ,I'll be able to see him .Hopefully .

I missed him even more when I was talking with Adrien .The way he opened up to me .They both have the same color hair and bright smile .But of course they can't be the same person .They act different most of the time ,and Chat is WAY more forward .Which I love .

I heard my mom call my name from downstairs so I answered her .

"Yeah mom ?"

"You have a friend who came to visit you ," My mom yelled from downstairs.

Ugh !Alya ! I told her not to come .Whatever ,I need a distraction anyways .

"Alright ,I'll be there in a sec ." I opened my trap door and started walking down the steps .When I got down to the bakery where my parents had been ,I swear my heart stopped .

"A-Adrien ? What are you doing here ?! Your father let you leave the house ?" I questioned ,completely shocked .

"I'm just as surprised as you are Marinette .But he said that he was proud of how hard I've been working and said I deserved a break ," Adrien said with a wide smile .

My jaw was on the floor at that moment ," Wow that's great ! I'm happy for you !See ,no one is that cruel to their kids ," I said playfully .

Adrien chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck .I could tell something was wrong ,he always does that when something was on his mind .

"Hey ,why don't we go and celebrate ,I can get us some croissants then we can go get some ice cream from Andre and have a picnic ," I smiled  

That seemed to make him happy because his face lit up ."Great idea Marinette ! I'll pay for the ice cream ,I still haven't thanked you for getting me out of school so quickly yesterday ," He said with a large smile .

I giggled ."How can I turn down free ice cream ?Sounds good ," I said smiling really wide .I swear I felt my cheeks heat up .NO ! I'm with Chat Noir ! This is just a friendly hangout .

I grabbed a basket ,went to the display counter and filled the basket with tons of croissants and a few extra goodies to surprise Adrien .What ever is on his mind ,I want him to forget all about it .

"We better get going then ," Adrien said ,heading towards the door .To my surprise he held open the door for me to go out first .I blushed slightly .I stood there in a dazed state .

"Uhh Marinette ? You coming ? " Adrien said ,still holding the door for me .

"Uhh haha ! Yeah ! " I quickly hurried through the door so Adrien could close it .

Heeyyy Party People ! What is this ??? An early update ?! I just wanted to give y'all something small to say HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! 2021 is coming to an end :((( But let's hope 2022 will be even better !!!! Also !!! I have a new book I'm working on and I hope ya'll will take an interest in it once I publish the first chapter . I'll tell you guys more about it later :DD 

This story is going all over the place .I know ! But next chapter will be shocking :O Or maybe like the chapter after the next chapter .But did you guys like this  chapter ??? Adrienette is making a comeback ruining LadyNoir .
