"y/n, y/n...wake up!"
"S-Shoto...?" You muttered, mind and eyesight a bit fuzzy as you turned our head to the side at the source of the voice.
"Haaah...? The stupid half and half bastard??"
When your eyes finally adjusted, you saw that you were in a hospital bed, and it was in fact not the two-toned boy standing at your side.
Instead, it was Bakugo, who had an especially irritated scowl on his face.
You shook your head before bowing it and looking down at your hands. "Oh...nothing. Sorry, Katsuki."
Bakugo clicked his tongue. "That's right! You better be sorry! Tell me. Why couldn't you just fucking stay put in your hotel room to heal and read one of your shitty books?? Now you've got more than just a fucked up shoulder!"
You scrunched your nose, not really knowing what to say to calm down the fuming ash blonde but soft knocks on your door interrupted you from having to retort. "Come in." You uttered weakly as you and Bakugo both stared at the door, which opened to reveal Todoroki.
"Shoto! You're okay!" You jolted up with a smile before laying back again with a groan when you felt pain shoot throughout your entire body, mainly your ribs which you realized felt broken.
Bakugo's jaw clinched, balling his fists and stalking towards the dual color haired boy before shoving him. "What the fuck are you doing in here, half n' half?? You're making her feel worse! GET OUT!"
"Katsuki, stop-please!" You begged, straining to sit up again when said boy fisted a handful of Todoroki's shirt. "Let him go. H-He saved me!"
It took a minute of Bakugo boring holes into Todoroki, who didn't have a single expression on his face, to let him go. "Tch! You're lucky you saved her...or else I would have killed you right now." He grumbled, grinding his teeth before leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.
Todoroki calmly dusted himself off before walking over to you, ignoring the ash blonde as he asked, "What happened, y/n?" Guilt was quickly starting to settle over his plain demeanor when he saw you wrapped up in bandages.
"I-I was trying to help Hawks put a stop to the illegal underground Quirk fighting ring..."
"Yeah, and how is participating in it trying to stop it?!" Bakugo bounced off the wall, stomping over to you once more. "And that fuckin' bird brain! He's a Pro Hero for fuckin' Christ's sake! What was he even thinking asking you to do that?!"
"No, don't blame him! He told me what was happening, and I volunteered to help because then that meant no one else would have to get in the ring...because it was worse than I ever could have imagined! They were forcing weak and innocent people to get in that cage and fight...and all the sick people watching were just paying and making bets!" You squeezed your eyes shut. "I saw someone get beat into a bloody pulp yesterday and die...and I couldn't do anything-!"
It was the first time since Bakugo came into your room that he had gone silent, and Todoroki just listened with a tightness in his jaw and chest.
Why did he believe even for one second you would be doing all this just for money?
"...Hawks asked if I could keep it a secret while he tried to find out who was behind the whole operation so he could put an end to it...because whoever this 'Boss' person was had some deep connections on the island since apparently authorities knew about what was going on...but they never put a stop to it."
After hearing your remarks, Bakugo's eyes shot a glare towards Todoroki. "Did you know what she was doing? About any of this??"
Todoroki shook his head slowly.
